GMT Auto Sales ripoff St Louis Missouri

I purchased a 1999 Olds Bravada in May 2003 and the car was a lemon. On the delivery day, the "check engine" light came on and I took it back immediately. By the time I made the first monthly payment to the finance company, I had only driven the car 7 days. They had to rebuild the transmission that never worked properly. I had to take it back more than 4 times. The transmission has a Smart Track device to adjust between 2 and 4 wheel drive. But, they could not get it working right. The car bounced all over the road. I was scared to drive it because I had a hard time controlling it.

After about the 4th visit to the dealer, they had the repair shop tell me that they had already spent enough money on it and would not try to fix anything else. But, the issue was that they never fixed it right in the first place. Everytime I looked around something was always wrong with it.

Finally, I could not continue to keep it running and pay the payment. So, the car was repossessed and the finance company is trying to sue me for breach of contract. I called the finance company and told them that they sold me a bad car within the first week of it being in the shop and got no support.

Since telling this story to people, I have found out that there are other people who have bought their cars with the same mechanical issues and got the same results. When the repo man came to my house, he said that my story was no different from the others he had heard while picking up their cars.

Something needs to be done to stop them from taking advantage of consumers. Beware!!! They are operating under several different names in the same area of St. Louis. The dealerships are called Auto Stop and Cross Keys Auto.
