So I had used godaddy for awhile and have 25 domains with them. I recently had another bad expirence with them which will lead to me changing hosts for my own 25 sites and no longer using them for my clients hosting when I design thier sites. I had bought 2 3 month packs of deluxe shared hosting as the rep told me they dont start the time until you activate or attach the hosting to a domain and make it active. It was cheaper to buy more hosting at one time then buy some here and some there. I got an email 3 days ago saying it was time to renew hosting for one of my domains. I sign in and the domain says hosting expire on october 23 2009 which is still a week away but I go ahead and renew the hosting by attaching a 3 month prepaid plan I had sitting in my account. Well come to find out thats only good til october 23 as they activated it the day I bought it after I was told it would start until used. They also took down my page and wiped out all my files and when asked they said yes we keep backup for our customers but we would charge $150 to put the files back on the server for use. ...So they took my money. lied to me, wasted my hosting time, and then were ballsy enough to tell there customer pay the $150 or too bad. A customer for over 5 years 25 personal accounts and over 200 refereed client accounts and now all will be leaving over this greedy tactic... 3 days for renewal time notice they wipe your server files completely so they can charge $150 for 2 minutes of setting them back on.. Avoid godaddy.com as they are real scam artisist. i have let the over charges and domain theft sales go in the past but this is it...Bad company avoid and spread the word on these thieves..
