I receive a telemarketing call from this company Gold Coast Coin & Bullion in Newport Beach California.  First of all they said this was not a sales call.  Then they started asking questions about how much gold and silver I have and where i keep it.  They were trying to entice me to trade gold bullion coins for "numismatic grade" coins of hyperinflated value.

I did a little background research and the principal is Troy Burge of Fullerton CA.  He claimes to have recently sold his business:

Northstar Bullion Exchange LLC which the BBB has reports of ripping off elderly women for $50,000.  It looks like they changed their name and moved to Newport Beach California.  You can find this corporation at kepler.sos.ca.gov/

This is a domesticated Nevada Corporation

nvsos.gov/SOSEntitySearch/CorpDetails.aspx?lx8nvq=eIe%252buCEYPrRc%252b3T%252fECEtuA%253d%253d&nt7=0

They are apparently operating Illegally without a business license for the City of Newport Beach California.

Please be very wary of this company and do not trust them as the management has a history of changing business names whenever bad publicity gets out on the Internet from their shady dealings.  It is unlikely that he sold his previous business, rather he probably changed names to avoid negativity online.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Company has had to move/change names Again

AUTHOR: Socal Joe - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 25, 2014

has changed their name to:

American Precious Metal Investments

16902 Bolsa Chica St #204
Huntington Beach, California
(888) 988-2646

I assume this is to avoid the legal problems with the city of Newport Beach for doing business without a license.
Consumers, Please be advised.

It looks like they have changed the name yet again to:

American Pacific Mint

1-877-410-MINT (6468)
19602 Bolsa Chica St #204
Huntington, Beach, Ca 92649

Anyone who is considering dealing with this company should consult with an Attorney and a Financial Advisor before making any decisions to see if It is in your best Interests.  You should be wary doing business with a company that lies.  This company lied in the above rebuttal.  They claimed to have a A rating up until last complaint.  There are FIVE complaints listed on the BBB website.  Anyone can check this for themselves.  By the time the last complaint was filed they apparently went out of business.

http://www.bbb.org/minnesota/business-reviews/coin-dealers-supplies/northstar-bullion-exchange-in-burnsville-mn-96344832/complaints

You might want to question the validity of their claim of having sold the business.  If a business were sold you would expect that the new owner would continue using the business name.  Why wouldn't they just use a new name?  Why would they buy  a business with a bad reputation and change the name?

This is the owner of the Gold Coast Coin And Bullion:

facebook.com/troy.burge.96/about

facebook.com/TROYMBURGE

Do you want to trust your savings to somone who claims to be a high school dropout who started his first business at 27 and looks still relatively young?  Mr. Burge was also involved in the Empower Network MLM Pyramid scheme recently per their facebook pages.

Again these are all facts that anyone can check on for themselves.

Do you trust a business operating without a business license?  After notifying the Newport Beach Code Enforcement of this, the following response was recieved:

-----------------------------------------------

Thank you for contacting the City of Newport Beach to report a possible unlicensed business.  Our records do not show that Gold Coast Coin And Bullion holds a current  license with us, therefore the City will be sending  a notice to obtain a license.  They will have 30 days to respond, at which time you may contact me and I will be able to provide you with any public information.

Monique Navarrete

City of Newport Beach

License Supervisor

949-644-3148

-----------------------------------------------

Again its your money and you can do what you please, but please take these FACTS into account.  Check for yourself, do your research, and if you feel you want to do business with them go ahead.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Falsely accused

AUTHOR: GCCB staff - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2014

The person filing this report has made false statements with no factual basis behind them. The person making the report is the son of a customer who made a trade with a gold company called Northstar Bullion Exchange NOT Gold Coast Coin and Bullion.

Northstar Bullion of Burnsvile Mn was sold on August 1st 2013 to an individual investor who has since changed the name to IGSA (Independet Gold and Silver Advisors) Northstar carried an A rating with the BBB during it's operating time in Mn.

IGSA is now owned by JNJ3 LLC. The customer (who's son was never involved in the transaction) was satisfied with her service from Northstar and was a repeat customer. The customer on her own will ordered her bullion bars to be released from brinks and shipped to Northstar for a trade into circulated silver dollars. The customer was very pleased with The trade, In fact she liked the coins so much she placed a 2nd Order!!

7 months later her son (who she warned Northstar was after money and his inheritance) called Northstar falsely claiming to have Power Of Attornway and wanted to reverse the trade his mother had made. After being asked to provide proof of power of attorney he could not. He tried contacting a lawyer but was advised that Northstar had a signed and audio recorded deal with his mother, he has no power of attorney, and that it was a fair business transaction Between his mother and Northstar.

Northstar was an upstanding and highly rated company, it was selected out of 50 gold companies to be purchased by a private investor after 3 months of a very intense internal audit of it's policies and procedures.

The owner is originally from Newprt Beach, Ca and relocated with his wife and 3 daughterso after the sale of Northstar. Gold Coast Coin and Bullion is a corp incorporated out of Nevada with offices in Newport Beach, Ca. Gold Coast Coin and Bullion is a licensed and bonded corp in California and has a "B" rating with the BBB.

Do not let 1 unethical person making FALSE claims persuade you. Northstar had over 3,000 HAPPY clients. The person making this FALSE claim was NOT a customer of Northstar, how ever his mother was a happy client who made Multiple purchases.

Best Regards,

GCCB Staff
