I work online everyday. I have been doing so for over two years. Recently I saw an ad on Craigslist "Work from home for a trusted review company". It was in the Pittsburgh section. I received a call from a woman with a British accent the next day. She claimed she was from Gold Seal Reviews. She told me to write a review. Afterwards, I would be paid $25 within 10 minutes plus the price of the e-book I purchased on Amazon.

I read the book and submitted the three reviews to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iTunes. I sent Gold Deal Reviews links to my review on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. There is no link to the iTunes app where reviews are posted. Regretlfully, this is a scam. I never received the pay that I was promised. I have waited two weeks and nothing.

I just want to warn people about Gold Seal Reviews. I have worked with many great people online and this is the first scam I have encountered. If you see this ad on Craigslist, stay clear.

This is not a scam ... .

[I didn't click the employee-of-this-company box because review-writers are independent contractors, not employees. Maybe I'm overthinking it ... . *shrugs*]

I also first saw this ad through Craigslist and was skeptical - as readers of Craigslist ads of course should be. However, my experience with this company has been nothing but positive - though you'll certainly never make a living doing this.

I've been doing reviews for them for five months or so, at a rate of usually one a month. Payment for your review is always shockingly prompt, you're always completely reimbursed for buying the e-book, and the people that I've interacted with are very pleasant and helpful.

This person apparently didn't compete the required process - only posting to two of the required three sites - so I'm not sure why this person is surprised they weren't paid. I'm sure it was due to miscommunication. This person apparently couldn't figure out how to post the final review using iTunes' app - as opposed to the Amazon and B&N websites. I don't know why he/she wouldn't have asked the folks at Gold Seal how to do it, if he/she wasn't sure. But failing to complete the job and thus not being paid certainly doesn't render the process a scam. And certainly don't think this company is a scam. Most of the books have been interesting, and getting paid to read and write a brief review seems like a good deal to me.

[You'll notice that this is similar to another rebuttal I wrote about this company; but that makes sense, right?]

I have worked for Gold Seal Reviews for over six months now. I have always been paid in less than a hour of posting reviews. They note that they do not pay on weekends as they hold business hours. They are not consistant with the number of books to review, but I imagine that has to do with need. I've done perhaps 8-10 reviews for them with no issue. They ask you to do "test" reviews to see if your writing and grammar skills are up to par with what they are looking for. Perhaps you are confusing the test reviews?

Also, I've never had issue with posting m reviews to the iTune site.
