Many phone calls began coming to my home, the caller ID said Golden Circle and the number. I didn't know if they were a collection agency or what, but they were quite persistent, never leaving a message on the answering machine. Finally, after they annoyed me enough, I phoned the number and told them to stop calling. the person who answered said they had to transfer me to another number. the woman on the other end was very sarcastic. she said I had a complimentary gift certificate to have my rug vacuumed. I said I wasn't interested. I had already researched them online and noticed it was a scam. she said that was ridiculous, it is not a scam, that Kirby is a reputable vacuum cleaner company. so she went on to insist I could have any room done, etc. I said my house was not accessible to be vaccuumed at this time, still she insisted, inquiring did I have a rug. yes, I have a rug. well, do you walk on the rug. yes. well, if you walk on the rug we can shampoo it, we can even just shampoo the parts you walk on. Look, I can't have anyone shampoo my rug right now. I also mentioned that the last time she called, she had come in on my call waiting while I was on an important called, so I quickly switched back to my important call. She stated that was impossible. impossible? actually, I did not have to explain to her about my important call, nor my disinterest in her services, I only called to request they stop calling numerous times. (these calls came from morning to as late as 9pm) Finally, I stated loudly that I did not want them in my house. she said ok, then we'll put that down.
I am on the do not call list, reported them there as well.

So as I am trying to figure out another alternative as to how to get my money that they owe me, I want to warn the public so it does not happen to anybody else. I geuss it's up to me to defend Kirby.
I am a Kirby salesman working in an office in naugutuck connecticut, it's a little more laid back then the southington one, but all offices have some things in common.
First of, that lady is just doing her job, which is very stressfull for new telemarketers. Now when we do cold calls in a kirby office, we get a list of people from advertising organizations that supposedly list people who are NOT on the do not call list. So we call them, and half of them turn out to be on the list. So we just pick out names from the phone book these days. Now telemarketers get bonuses for setting alot of shows, and in that kind of work, they can get pretty desperate sometimes.
Now you can't go and attack an entire franchise after one incident with a couple depserate telemarketers, there just doing there job
