We were approached by salespeople who said they could get us a better rate for our credit card machine. We signed a lease with this company, Golden Eagle Leasing aka Northern Leasing Systems, Inc. The company offered to take care of our old credit card machine and return it to our previous vendor.

We accepted this offer since we thought this was a legitimate company. Instead of doing that, the company took our machine and never returned it to our previous vendor, as promised.

After repeated calls to them to find out what happened to our old equipment, they never explained what happened to the equipment and insisted that it was our problem since they had no record of it. After this, we knew we did not want to do busines with such a unethical company.

We notified them we wanted to cancel our lease. They accepted our notice and picked up their equipment. We thought everything was resolved.

Five years later, after we cancelled some of bank accounts, we started received harassing calls from the company saying that we owed them money. Apparently, they had been taking money out of our account for the past 5 years without our knowledge or consent. Mind you, we returned the equipment to them and they were still charging us for it.

When we called to complain and straighten it out we were told that the people we spoke with to cancel the account did not represent their company and thus our lease was still active. Basically, it's a shell game. They disassociate themselves with the equipment side and say they only deal with the leasing side so that they can keep themselves from being responsible. But when they originally sell you the equipment, they make it seem like they are one and the same company. They informed us that the lease we signed indicated all this in fine print information that we never knew about (fine print is no exaggeration - you need a magnifying glass to read it).

The people we spoke with were rude, harassing, and completely unprofessional. Their response to every one of our statements were that it was not their problem and we owed them money. They sounded like telemarketers more than a real company. They are obviously not a legitimate company and doing scams on many consumers.

If you google their name (they go by various different busines names, which is also a big clue as to the fact that they are unscrupulous), you will find several sites indicating that this is a scam company, devoted to harassing people and defrauding consumers of their money.

We are filing complaints with the State Attorney General of Washington and New York. I would recommend everyone do so. Maybe with enough people complaining, we can shut this company down for it's illegal practices. Or maybe a good attorney can see this and file a class action lawsuit against these people. We need to stop companies like this from defruading innocent people of their hard earned money.

I know well of the crap you are dealing with.  GoldenEagle/Northern Leasing and their cohort TBF Financial are blatant thieves and crooks.  iI am currently involved in filing suit against these bastards.  My situation is now 11 yrs ongoing.  Those c****uckers conned my late wife and unbeknownst to me place a lein on one of my properties.

I cannot re-finance nor sell because of this bullshit.  My late wife defeated them in claims court.  But it seems they have ways around the system and contrived a decision in Connecticut courts to overturn the decision here.  I am currently taking legal against these racketeers.  I pray to god I can f**k those bastards royal

Dear Tommy,

My name is Amy Tanguay. I am Head of Risk Management at Golden Eagle/Northern Leasing Systems Inc. I have read your complaint letter regarding your equipment finance lease.

The sales person who set you up with the equipment is part of an Independent Sales Organization ("ISO") NOT employed by Golden Eagle-Northern Leasing Systems.

Neither Golden Eagle-Northern Leasing, nor the Independent Sales Company involved in a leasing transaction, is responsible for the return of any pre-existing piece of leased equipment that a merchant may possess. If a merchant is leasing a piece of equipment, that equipment should not be released to ANYONE other than the leasing company that owns it. If a merchant chooses to release the leased equipment to a sales representative from a DIFFERENT company, the merchant is running the risk of not receiving proper credit for the piece of equipment. The merchant is solely responsible for the proper return and credit of any piece of leased equipment to the appropriate company.

The Golden Eagle-Northern Leasing Systems lease clearly states that the lease is non-cancelable for the duration of the lease term. The Independent Sales Organization has no authorization to cancel a lease. Only the leasing company that purchased the lease can do that.

Golden Eagle-Northern Leasing expects that all merchants have read and understood the equipment finance lease in its entirety before signing it. If a merchant is unable to read the terms and conditions of the lease, or does not understand a component of the lease, it is expected that the merchant would Not sign and agree to the lease.

The Golden-Eagle-Northern Leasing Customer Service Department is always on hand to provide merchants with copies of their lease agreements. If a merchant is unable to read a provided photocopy of a lease, our Customer Service Department is happy to photocopy the lease to a larger size.
