I hired this contractor to do some handyman work. I didn't get a contract due to he is my neighbor's cousin. After he observed the work, I was given. a quote ($800) to repair/unsulate a metal tin roof on an existing 20x20 porch.
I gave him $500 for supplies to replace the roof that had blown off in a previous hurricane. Later I discovered that he was only putting down insuation on the roof. My fault for not getting contract. However, he didn't even complete that insulation.
The insulation is not completely installed, not secured and will blow off in the next storm. He has been paid in full and I cannot get him to finish the job. What an embarassment to the neighbor.
Do not hire this contractor. He is not licensed. He is overpriced and takes the cheapest methods possible. If you do hire him. Get a contract and above all NO upfront money. It has been said that if a contractor asks for upfront money, do not hire them -Red Flag
