Goodman Manufacturing Ripoff the Elderly Company. Do NOT purchase or install one of their units!!! Internet

In May, 2007, I made arrangements to purchase a new Heat Pump Package for my home. I paid $2,500 to the installer for the unit. I was not advised anything about registering my unit for warrany. Recently (November 20, 2012) the heat went out on my unit. This is when I discover that they will not honor the warranty that I though I had because I had not registered the unit within 60 days of purchase.

They toot all about their TEN (10) year warranty, but seem to get out of it by bringing a supposed requirement to register the unit. The installer is now deceased and there is now way I can ask him about the warranty. Now I have finally gotten someone my son knows to look at the unit. It seems as if I have to use the auxiliary heat strips because the compressor lines (holding the freon) are clogged up. What am I supposeed to do for heat?

I live on a fixed income and cannot afford to purchase a new unit without saving for a long time. I know that $2500 is not a lot of money for the big wigs that own this company, but when I call, customer service has no answers for me. Just "It is not covered". "The warranty has expired". A heat package should last longer than 5 years. As far as I am concerned, when I can get enough money to get a new unit, I sure will NOT purchase a Goodman. They are evidently producing a PIECE OF JUNK!!!
