I purchased a vehicle from Goodyear motors. I signed a contract after I explained that I could not do what they were asking. I live on a S.S. check which comes once a month. Usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month between the dates of the 22nd and the 28> I told Good year motors that I preferred my payment date to be after the 28th of the Month. They wanted me to pay every two weeks. I told them I could not do that and could only pay once a month.

They said I could pay after the 25th as long as I let them know the date each month. I also asked that since the contract I signed said I had to pay every two weeks, and since I was going to be paying once a month, would I incur any late fees, penalities, stc. They assured me I would not. Well, I am being charged late fees, and when I attempted to talk to their collection department about the late fees, the lady I was speaking to hung up on me. I am now paying late fees. I have had numerous problems with this vehicle. Joe Montealvo assured me that the vehicle was very well taken care of. It was not.

The first time I accelerated to get on the freeway, the car hesitated, engine coughed and spit, and started missfiring. The check engine light came on. The second problem was the AC quit blowing cool air after only 5 days. I had explained to the Salesman that at my age I could no longer handle the heat and needed a car with a goos AC. After raising the roof with Mr. Montealvo he agreed to have their Mechanics make the repairs at no cost to me. I took the car in and they kept it for 6 days. They said they replaced a clogged radiator.

When I picked up the car after having been assured that the problems were repaired it became obvious that the AC had not been repaired. I took the car back and they had it for another 4 days fixing the leak in the AC. They said they replaced all the seals in the AC system. After getting the car back after a total of 10 days in their Garage, the AC went out within three weeks, again all the freon leake out The Sales Manager Joe Montealvo will not return emails, nor will he return phone calls.

The other employees at Goodyear motors will not return emails or phone calls, and if I get though to one on the phone, they hang up on me. I live on a limited income. I cannot afford to be nickel and dimed to death. The car they sold me does not even belong to Goodyear motors. It belongs to a Miss Carolyn who lives in River Oaks. I supp0ose they are selling the car for her on Consignment. I do not know. This car dealer says one thing and does the opposite. I am 68 years old, and I feel as if I have been taken advantage of by Goodyrear Motors.

My Montealvo actuslly has the temerity to call himself a professional. Yes, he is a professional scam artist. I have too much money invested in the car at this point to let it go back, and they know it. They also know they sold me a car which has some problems. I have had to replace the high pressure hose on the power steering pump. The lifts on the back glass, the back tail gate, and the hood will alll have to be replaced. Was I a sucker for signing a contract with Goodyear motors. Yes, I was.

Jim, I notice you post a rebuttal to many of the negative posts about Goodyear motors in Houston including mine.

Do you work for these people? Are you related to them? Are you friends with them? I ask because you seem to spens a lot of time defending them.

When you are 68 years old, live on a SS check, and have difficulties breathing while walking, a car is a nessecity, not a luxury. The Salesman was full of glowing promises and had gotten the owners permission to have me make the payments as I needed to.

At the time, it looked like a God send. Once upon a time, a mans word was as good as gold. Should I have read the thity pages of the contract? Probably so. I still do not understand how any business can operate on the up and up by having a customer sign a contract stating one thing, and thern tell the customer they can do something completely different.

Any way you look at it, they lied to me, and I fell for it. I even have a witness to what was said. Apparently this company's word is not good. Lets just say I was stupis enough to have a brain freeze when I signed the contract and was listenting too close to the salemans promise.

If you say you cannot make two payments per month and you only wanted to make a monthly payment, why did you agree to contractual terms which were not what you wanted?  Did you even bother to read that contract before you signed it?
