Goodyear Tire Company Goodyear Rebate Program Internet

I,too, am getting the run around trying to collect the $40 rebate I was promised when I purchased 4 tires.
My purchase date was 10/5/11 and the paperwork was mailed in the next day. According to the company's rebate website my information was received and processed on 10/13/11 and a check was "printed". As I have not received the check I contacted Goodyear by e-mail and was told that a third party was responsible for getting it to me. As of, 01/17/12, I have not received the rebate.

Here's the rest of the story. I applied for the $40 rebate on 10/5/11 after purchasing 4 new tires. The company stated that it would take 6-8 weeks for the check to be processed. After a few months, I either called or e-mailed to find out the status. Every time that I spoke to someone, it was a different story or excuse. When I went to Goodyear's rebate website, it always said that the check had been printed. I finally received the check on 3/30/12 (24 weeks later, not 6-8 weeks). The check had been printed 3 days before it came in the mail. If you bother them enough, they will finally send it. Good luck, folks.

This is exactly why making a purchase decision based on the notorious "mail-in rebate" is for suckers. No one is actually responsible for making sure you get what is due. The manufacturer actually banks on the fact that a large percentage of the rebates will go uncollected. They also require that you send in "original" documents and proof of purchase. Those can only get "lost in the mail" one time.
