I got the 1st engine from them , and it was the wrong one , had to fight to get the correct engine sent to me , the 2nd engine was not put together correctley , finnaly they sent me a 3rd engine , I spent well over $7400.00 ,and 6 weeks of time. but they did pay me back a little over $2000.00 , now it is 8 months later , with only 6000 miles put on the engine , and I had to put it back in the shop for internal problems with the engine , this time it cost me $1347.00 , they , got engines.com , will only pay $50 a hour labor , that is the rates back in the 1980,s

You've gone through a lot of problems - sorry to hear that.
The truth is that there are just as many mechanics who rip off their customers as those who don't.
If "buy from your mechanic blindly" is the lesson you've taken from this, you've missed a great learning experience.
The lesson is investigate anyone you're thinking of doing business with. Years of work in the auto business have taught me that there are people who do things right, and people who don't.
True story: I have a friend who ran a salvage yard. He was talking to a customer - a local shop - about engines for a vehicle. He had two. One was a high mile engine, the other had low miles (They had over 120,000 miles difference). Price difference? $250.
The shop bought the high mile engine. Their reason? "Either one will last my 30 day warranty."
I'm curious what warranty your mechanic would have given you on the engine. Unless it was a reman, probably not much.
