Government Grant Info Center Pamela Jones Sneaky sales techniques lied to me total ripoff changed check number and resubmitted to my bank after I stopped paymentt on first check St. Petersburg Georgia

On October 18th I got a call from Government Grants Info Center in St. Petersburg. After talking to a Pamela Jones she talked me into applying for the info on government grants. Before they took my checking info they could not connect to their billing center and asked if they could call me back.

In the meantime I went online and checked them out. There was more than enough sufficient info on them as being ripoff artists. I waited for them to call back so that I could back out. However, upon questioning Ms. Jones she said she was not aware of any ripoff schemes and swore that whatever I saw on the internet was not the truth. I told her no, I was not interested anymore and that I did not trust her.

She became quite irate and told me that if I did not want it after I got it that I could get my money back. I had already given her my checking info and asked that she give it back. She told me that it was too late and that I shoudl trust her and the company and I could get my money back if not satisfied. The amount was 249.00.

When I got off the phone I called my Credit Union where I have my checking account and put a stop payment on it. I thought that would take care of the problem. When I got my monthly statement it was paid and was not the correct check number. It was a number way out of order of the rest of my check numbers. I remembered telling her twice the check number so they must have changed it in case I would stop payment on the check.

I thought everything was taken care of until I received Novemeber statement from my credit union. They put the check through again, this time changing the check number. Is this not illegal? Needless to say, the money was once again taken from my checking account. This time when I called my credit union, there was nothing they could do about it as now the check number had changed and they went ahead a paid it.

I do not know what else to do as I have no phone numbers or street address for this scam. I don't want to see this happen to anybody else and will do anything that would help.

I feel like these people have stolen from me and could steal again as they have my checking info and apparently know how to use it. They must be stopped
