Anita Steinbergh DO just re-appointed to the State Medical Board of Ohio for another 5-year term: she's been on the Board since 1993 = will make it 20 years of corruption and bad untransparent decisions. Dr. Steinbergh orders women physician colleagues to unending psychiatric evaluations, to find out about their personal lives and personality flaws, tells them to admit lies and refer to certain male colleagues; requires woman physicians to accept bad behaviors, comments, care with 'aequanimitas' or not have a medical license.
Especially hates women MDs - in Ohio if you had the better grades, etc you get into MD schools - there is a hierarchy of training and I have more ability and brains than Dr. Steinbergh - but I came under her 'control.' MD training is better than DO training - witness that Dr. Steinbergh can't discuss a medical problem of a woman physician and makes it 'psychiatric.' She won't discuss that I needed blood work in 1991 - doesn't know the blood tests even vitamin D levels are too much for her. She would 'kill' another woman MD phsyician who disagreed with her - making this woman physician accept no care or life unless they say that she is 'right.' Totally cruel, horrible woman.
Totally corrupt woman with the warmth of an iceberg, tells you what bestsellers (eg ICEBOUND) to read to get the idea of how you are supposed to go along with the 'boys being boys' in Ohio - totally under the control of Dr. Fred Suppes former President of the Ohio State Medical Association = friend of Mrs. Timothy Nice and expects that you feel sorry for Mrs Nice (whose husband targets other women and then his wife destroys them). Meets with you and is on her cell phone constantly. Has Governor Strickland ever tried to have a conversation with her for more than 5 minutes or watched her face in a room - the expressions of 'disgust' for you as you don't know how to work it like her? Her face even is awful.
My complaint to the Ohio Board in 1991, led to my medical license being taken since 1992 - for 'making too much of bad fracture care' = not a reason to take a medical license. No one knows what really is behind the suspension of my medical license. Dr. Steinbergh won't tell. There were no patient complaints because I insisted on proper care for my patients - even though I couldn't get it for myself. My one fracture was left uncasted for 3 weeks; until I almost didn't have a hand.
Standards of medical care in Ohio are in the pits with the present Medical Board of 'special' physicians and lay Members - no one successful is on that Board, just people that thrive by destroying others. Dr. Stephens won't say anything about the inadequate fracture care that I got - so what I was just a WHITE woman physician. The orthopedic care that I got 1990-2, was admittedly BAD and not appropriate or adequate, but the orthopedics didn't get evaluated or even told not to do that care again = Dr. Timothy Nice and Dr. Michael Keith get 'special' treatment from Dr. Steinbergh as do most male physicians.
Dr. Timothy Nice doesn't know which direction to set a cast in and doesn't know how to apply cast padding even (needs a remedical casting workshop). Dr. Michale Keith will try an 'experimental' cast, which has never worked, and then refuse to discuss what he did or a workup for multiple fracture syndrome. Most male physicians in Ohio don't have to do anything with the present Medical Board, all complaints against them are dropped in the 'round file' and never investigated. Who decides, and on what criteria, that a physician should be investigated. What are the criteria for 'impairment' in Ohio - NOBODY KNOWS.
Ohio needs new physicians on the State Medical Board of Ohio - not foreign physicians or repeating recycled woman DOs. The recycling of bad inadequate Members needs to stop before 2013. Cleveland Clinic has no Members appointed to the State Medical Board, and all complaints at the State Medical Board are 'confidential' so that physicians with multiple complaints have nothing done while physicians who complain that they can't get their own medical records have their licenses suspended for 'making too much.' It's a double-standard or no standard situation.
Dr. Steinbergh orders evaluations on other woman physicians for no reason, while letting Dr. Nice miscast fractures and Dr. Keith do surgeries without workups. We need new Members and Members who agree with transparency of proceedings at the State Medical Board of Ohio - so that all physicians can get their files and 'fix' the problems or admit to what they actually did wrong = unknown in my case except that I reported Dr. Nice who would not meet to DISCUSS ANYTHING. All cases and Member appointments/re-appointments are shrouded in secrecy and 'confidential.' Dr. Steinbergh needs a new job. TRANSPARENCY OF PROCEEDINGS Governor Strickland - like in Alaska.
Governor Strickland needs to be appointing new Members, and not just the same ol' corrupt ones, to the State Medical Board of Ohio - which needs to be representative of the physicians in Ohio and not of 'special' groups. Dr. Steinbergh is the worst woman physician that I've met, she's a bitter DO with an inability to discuss ANYTHING MEDICAL for 2 seconds. The workup that I needed for the fractures - Dr. Steinbergh has said publically 'so what' - that I didn't need blood workup or a splint or a cast before 3 weeks time on a 'serious' fracture - just another evaluation and to refer to the 'right' physicians in Ohio, ie Dr. Nice.
Dr. Steinbergh is a complete woman monster in a package. How about Dr. Licata from The Cleveland Clinic or someone with real expertise in medicine and their field - someone who knows what CARE should be in Ohio and isn't? Someone who would hold physicians to a higher standard and will not do frivolous or manufactured complaints - someone who wouldn't vote the party line? Dr. Steinbergh is a complete talking-head with no sense and no ability in women's medicine = everything is 'psychiatric' or 'making too much.' Please find someone else other than her and Dr. Talmadge, some physicians who would improve care standards and not be doing serial evaluations on woman physicians for saying NO.

Ohio State Medical Board Members - since Governor Celeste's time - have been allowed to run investigations into problems at hospital(s) where they attend, are contracted or on salary - even when they/their policies are part of the problem. Members will contract with hospitals giving assurances that certain physicians will not have to worry about investigations, sanctions, or Board disciplines - if they hire the Board Member's group by contract/bid, or the Board Member instead of another candidate. The physicians involved in hiring the Board Member in preference to another physician are protected from investigation - and care suffers because of this. Other physicians don't know why these physicians are 'immune.'
Then certain staff physicians at these 'Board Member hospitals,' go around telling other physicians that if they don't do certain things, they have the power (by hiring the Board Member) to see that certain other physicians 'never practice medicine again' - getting rid of the competition by threat and the 'confidential' complaint. Even if the physician has no patient complaints they will be suspended, ordered to repeated psychiatric evaluations and their career in Ohio terminated.
The hospital contracts that Board Members have with a certain hospital(s) or hospital systems are big contracts and the hospitals expect 'protection' as part of the Deal. When a case is resolved successfully for the hospital/hospital system, the Board Members then get additional appointments (which they take), better contracts, and more staff privileges and power. It's a system that feeds itself and counts on the same Members being re-appointed year after year.
This system just ruins careers, lives, and is completely corrupt. Governor Strickland is continuing it. Physicians looking for staff privileges at hospitals are advised not to apply to hospitals where a Medical Board Member has a significant appointment - unless they personally know the Medical Board Member and his/her agenda.

I read the report. Tell me doctor 'interested person', Why didn't her doctors order Thyroid and Parathyroid tests and Calcium and Phosphorus tests when she started to fracture? We are all waiting for your answer 'Doctor'! Tell us on your next post.
You are doing a lot of guessing and interpreting using evidence that may or may not be totally factual and may have been altered. Did you miss that when you read the report, or just choose to leave it out? Tell us on your next post.
I think anyone who would make 'fun' of someone's problems is a 'very sad little person' who probably needs counseling to find out why they they choose that behavior. In case you don't know, I mean YOU. Explain this on your next post.
What is your connection to the Medical Board, and why are you defending them so vigorously? Why don't you put YOUR real name and location here? Rita had the courage to do that! Ill bet it is because Rita knows you. Explain this on your next post.
Unless you have constructive information that can help Rita NOW, your posts are not relevant, and should be in a 'chat' room. This website is to offer good help and advice to people who honestly feel they were treated badly.

Women Pre-Med students in Texas have a much better deal.
They are seriously discussing opening a Medical School here in Austin, Texas and here there are plenty of women's advocacy groups to safeguard yoru rights.
If you are Native American or Hispanic or African American, your rights will be even more Scrupiously guarded!
But while you are in OHIO, THIS IS AN ELECTION YEAR.
People who are appointed by governors to committees have usually contributed lot of CA$H to the governor's campaign and the whole world knows it.
SO TRY TO VOTE HIM OUT AND THE NEW GOVERNOR WILL PUT IN HIS OR HER OWN PEOPLE CAUSE THAT'S HOW IT WORKS IN THE REAL WORLD OF POLITICS.
IT IS NOT RIGHT OR ETHNICAL BUT IT HAS BEEN GOING ON A LONG TIME.
