My husband and I were invited to a invitation only and guaranteed prize for listening to information on a company that can save you thousands and travel ... We were skeptical but decided to waste two hours of our time because we do travel quite frequently. It was a very high pressure sales pitch. Which lasted about two hours We asked about specific offers brochures pictures current offers we were told that that was not available and less you were a member. We found out out rages. We asked for a few moments and walked outside and googled Grand discovery. As we suspected there were many many reports of unhappy people that had joined and felt they had been ripped off. We decided to go when and politely declined the offer. We told them, which is true that we never impulse buy anything over $500. At this point things started to go wrong. The sales man that we had considered very high-pressure now turn the heat on full blast. He said " I know what you did, you went outside and googled us. We admitted we had done that and seeing all of the negative reviews and we were not willing to join Grand Discovery. He became very angry and abusive accusing us of wasting his time. He raised his voice and said get your d**n free prize and get out. His face was so red I thought he might blow a vein in the side of his neck. Trying to calm him down my husband I shored him that we would think about it and let him know the next day. He informed us that this was a one time offer and that if we did not sign up today we would never have this opportunity again for the rest of our lives, LOL. We just wanted to go. The manager at once came over to intervene. A couple had decided to join Grand Discovery was within 10 feet of us and he was in damage control mode. He apologized profusely and began writing while making small talk. It was odd especially considering what he was writing was a deep discounted price on their letterhead. I guess he did not want the other couple to realize that he was able to do this. We again decline the offer and left without the promised a prize but I did take the offer that he had written on their letterhead. If I am able I will attach it to my complaint. I am afraid that people that are easily intimidated or don't understand that things that sound too good to be true usually are or don't do their homework before making such a huge purchase can be taken advantage of. My mind automatically goes to the elderly or a family just beginning to start their new lives together ,this is a purchase that as a traveler myself, is in no way possible to save you money. It's obviously a scam and really comes with no travel agent to help you you just pay thousands of dollars and then you get the runaround we asked many questions which were met with answers that made no sense and required you to pay upfront then send them the receipt then you would get your money back it was a runaround that was so high pressure without any offers to show you how you could save money any destinations any plane ticket prices nothing to back it up, it wasn't obvious scam. Please stay away far away even the prize of two plane tickets required a run around that would take time you paying upfront your taxes reservation fees and then sending them back through grandest cover he to get your money back. Free is not paying upfront and then getting your money back whenever they get around to it we asked specifically how long that would take during the seminar and of course there was no clear answer.
