I purchased a 2010 Peterbilt 386 at Grand Rapids Truck Center on Jan 2,2017, as of Aug 3,2017 I put 12,800 miles on this truck.  Transmission and front rear end replaced June 2017, now my engine needs a complete overhaul.  After talking to the owner of this truck he told Grand Rapids Truck Center that it needed an engine overhaul before being sold. The only thing that was done with the truck was being cleaned and shined up. None of this information was given to me prior to purchasing my truck from Grand Rapids Truck Center.

As a future buyer looking to purchase a semi truck, I recommend staying away from dealing with Grand Rapids Truck Center. The only way I would purchase a truck through Grand Rapids Truck Center is with a dyno report and oil samples.

Thank you for you time.

Rebuttal-Grand Rapids Truck Center

AUTHOR: Pat - (United States)

I Pat Roksandich am responding to the Grand Rapids Truck Center concerning my RIPOFF report with the owner Josh responding to my report.

I did purchase a warranty thru Grand Rapids Truck Center (Premium 2000 which unfortunately was not a very good warranty company) but when I purchased my 2010 Peterbilt I was not told by Grand Rapids Truck this truck was being sold on consignment, so with that being said 3 weeks after buying this Pete the engine needed a complete overhaul and the transmission needed overhauled, I was able to track down the previous owner and question the previous owner and YES the previous owner told Grand Rapids truck center the truck I purchased did have engine problems and he did not want to put anymore money into the truck.

So at that time I called the salesman which sold me the truck,  I explained the situation and asked a simple question like... i will sell my Pete and take the loss,  what kind of deal (price) can I get on a truck I may interested in providing oil samples and a dyno, the saleman made a comment this sounds fair to me let me talk to the owner Josh, but unfortunately never received a call of any kind from the owner now thats a RIPOFF IF I EVERSEEN A RIPOFF, BUYERS BEWARE OF GRAND RAPIDS TRUCK CENTER.

Yes I have been trucken for many years and yes I understand the chances we the buyers take on used equipment but this deal was by far a RIPOFF!!!!!!

grand rapids truck center did sell mr. roksandich a used 2010 peterbilt 386 with 846,000 miles on it about 8 months ago. mr. roksandich did purchase a warranty for the truck through premium 2000 plus which is a nationwide parts and labor warranty. we did sell the truck on consignment for a customer. the customer that we were selling the truck for never stated that the truck needed an overhaul and if so we would have never sold it on our lot knowing that. most engine and trans in trucks today only last 700k to 1 million miles before they need to be rebuilt or replaced. used trucks have moving parts that can go bad at anytime that nobody can predict when it will happen. the problems mr. roksandich had with the truck he purchased were covered under warranty by premium 2000 plus and paid on 07/13/2017. all used trucks are sold "as is where is" its up to the customer to purchase a warranty and mr. roksandich did purchase the warranty and the problem were covered and paid!! grand rapids truck center is in no way looking to scam customers, we sell hundreds for trucks a year. once in a while trucks do have problems but in this case he had a warranty!!
