I hate it when things like this happen.  My sister and I are trying to start and small business and wanted to have access to grants because we don't have a lot of money to do this.

This is the reason why we ordered the CD from Grant Assist because we only had to pay $2.97.  Then I see on my bank statement that I was charged another $57.93 for who knows what!

I got on their website to call them and they don't have a phone number.  They hide behind some email account and when you submit your email they send you a ticket number to refer to.  I now have two ticket numbers and nobody has responded.  And this has been three weeks now!

I am outraged!!   What do I do?

Dispute It.

AUTHOR: VinnyZ66 - (United States of America)

Try and dispute it with your bank.

A friend of the family "borrowed" my dad's credit card a couple of years ago a signed up for one of these scams.  I disputed the charges, the credit card company reversed them and the company did not fight it.

Be aware that this "$57.93" is not a one time charge.  It is a monthly fee.  It is disclosed in the fine print on these scam websites.  It is normally buried in the "Terms and Conditions" page that no one ever reads.  The $2.97 charge is just the hook to your credit card/debit card number.  The CD is basically worthless.

Other things:

1)  Never (repeat "never" 47 times) use a debit card online.  These companies can empty your bank account before you know it.

2)  There are no government grants to start businesses.  The websites that say that grants like this exist are all scams.
