This is not exactly a huge deal, but it does make one wonder about ever doing business with this company again.  Purchased a car from this dealership in November 2009.  It was actually a very pleasant experience from salesman to F&I.

Under the contract, they charged my $58 for registration fees and gave me temporary tags.  Well 2 months later, no new registration and the tags had expired.  Went to motor vehicles and paid to get the expired temporary registered, cost me $61 with the credit card fee.

Contacted dealership, got transferred 6 times and finally talked to a lady named Michelle.  She said she would handle it and call me back that afternoon.  No call.

Called them the next day, voicemail for Michelle.

Wrote them a letter asking for the refund of my registration fee and gave them 10 business days to respond.  No response.  Craziest thing is I would have recommended them to family and friends up to this point.

So here I am, filed my BBB report last night and my Rip off Report today.  Give this a chance and if needed file my small claims case.  I will end up losing a little bit on the small claims case if I win, but we consumers have to be willing to show companies that ignore us that we don't go away.  Will post with resolution

Liabilites do not go to new owner

AUTHOR: carguy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 03, 2010

When car dealerships are bought and sold, the liabilities DO NOT go to the new owner.  They new owner purchases the franchise and the assets (furniture, service equipment, etc.).  The liabilities remain with the seller.

Got My Refund

AUTHOR: Glenn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 27, 2010

After reporting to the BBB, the company responded that they were a new entity and were not responsible.  I asked them if I could have a free car since the old company had not gone bankrupt, and any purchase of a business means buying the assets and LIABILITIES.  If they were disclaiming the liabilities, surely they were disclaiming the assets!

Anyhow, they did make good on the refund of $59.  I was also promised in writing that I would have my first 3 oil changes free, but of course they have no record of that and quite frankly I am tired of fighting these people.  I will just use my local Firestone dealer instead.
