GREAT EXPECTAIONS RIPPED ME OFF. PAID FOR DATING SERVICES, HUMILIATING PHOTOSHOOT, AND DIDNT GET ONE DATE. PROMISED $300 FOR PHOTO SHOOTING,THEN WANTED $250 MORE FOR PHOTOS. ripped off and scammed fraudulent ripoff business SACRAMENTO California .....
I signed up for 9 month trial membership with Great Expectations. I choose a couple dozen men, didnt get one date.Believe this is a scam. Customer doesnt get any direct communications with person your selecting. They send a postcard, and then usually several weeks later they suppossedly get a postcard,or call back rejecting or accepting. You dont get to see the postcard sent back, so you dont know if it is real, or bogus. I found it depressing to be given a reason why for the rejections, but, they still kept giving me reasons why when told me my selection was declined. Sometimes the reasons were derogatory, and depressed me greatly.
The photo shoot guy was a real flirt, love this,love that, oh love pose like this,and that. Dont explain when you sign the contract for photos that was $300,that doesnt include any photos,just the sitting for photos. Then want $250 more for photos,major ripoff!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried for several months to get a date, selected men mostly alittle older than me,only one abit younger,was just selecting average looking guys,since I am an average looking gal.
But, only one of dozens said yes,then called & gave an exuse to cancel the date hed made with me. Found the whole process very humiliating, demoralizing, and thoroughly depressing! Buyers beware!

I have used Great Expectations here in L.A. for three years, and I'll tell you, for me it's been like an escort service! I have had many dates with a dozen different ladies in the last eighteen months, all the girls have been gorgeous. 5 of them have major roles in daily soap operas. I don't get lucky every time, but enough to justify the fee.
Dating services are the preferred method for the famous and beautiful to date others like them. If you are using Great Expectations (like the original poster) in a cowtown like Davis then you get what you pay for. My suggestion: come down to SoCal and meet some real babes who love to party!

General Rule to follow. Dating servces are useless and if you have to pay for them just a waste of time and money. All they do is play off people's desperation.
If you are looking for a date there are several FREE or very cheap ways to meet people where you don't have to wait for the mail to arrive. Just go down to a coffee house or if you really want a personal ad posted, there are several FREE sites where you can post and reply, however some may let you post and get mail but you'll have to pay to reply.
