I feel like a complete moron for getting into this situation hopefully others will read first. Great Expectations convinced me into taking an expensive and impulsive leap of faith and become a member of there exciting service. However the excitement died quickly and it became blatantly obvious that I had wasted almost $3000.

My mistake began when I tried a online dating profile. A very nice lady from Great Expectations called the next day. A fun chat had me with an appointment for and evaluation at Great's office. I got there and a different lady was there to get me excited about the service. She talked with me about: how web dating companies are scams, how happy she is with the service, there were 30 years old, and some PHD loves the service and how she understands my feeling. The final sale was 20 profiles that matched what I wanted to see. Honestly I was never in the game, by getting emotional instead of analyzing, my $3k was spend on the dream of hundreds of women in my area eager to meet.

This sounds stupid in hind site but there were the things I fell for:
They were around for 30 year so you know they are good.
At these prices only serious people becomes members.
There is a male female balance.
They just wanted to help me

I went home excited thinking of all the people that would be calling me eminently. Eventually my brain kicked in and I realized they never guaranteed anything. Now committed, the realizations set in that all the above things are not relevant to anything, mostly untrue, and misleading. I decided to give them a chance since I was already out the cash. First glance at the data base and reality kicked in like a load of bricks. The most basic search (for all women 18 to 35 in WA) yielded 23 people. Of them 16 were inactive. Of the last 7 there was nothing remotely like my sample.

Google "advance fee scams" and you will see detailed descriptions of what this company does. They get you emotional then ask you for an advanced fee to make your dreams come true. After your card is billed they show pull back the curtain.

I'm not even trying for a refund I know that is not possible. I'm just trying to close my account so they don't count me on there claims. They are great salesmen but they have nothing for you but a dream.
