Great Lakes Warranty Company Do not buy a warranty from these people. They are dishonest and criminals! Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

I purchased a 2000 VW Beetle and added a warranty from Great Lakes Warranty company. Recently my car overheated and I took it to a reputable repair shop and was told I pretty much needed a new engine. The repair facility called Great Lakes and opened a claim. I was told by Great Lakes that an "independant" inspector had to look over the car first. They sent this person out and he/she told Great Lakes that a $20 part caused the head gasket to blow and that $20 part was not covered therefore they would not cover the cost of a replacement engine. I'm totally outraged!

When I asked for a copy of my policy they said I needed to request it in writing w/a signature. I have not done that because I wouldn't put it past them to copy my signature on a policy that excludes the part the isn't included.

Do not by a warranty from these people. You'd be better putting the money you would pay them in a savings account in case repairs come up. They are totally dishonest. Please learn from my mistake.
