My wife is disabled due to being hit by an Omaha Police Car in pursuit of a robery suspect.  This was the second time she was hit by another driver speeding and one the ran a red light!

She has been under doctors care and medications with declining health for over 20 years!  Her memory fails her at times and she is housebound and becomes confused at times.

She banks at the Greatwestern Bank at TwinCreeks in Bellevue Nebraska.

As a permanently disabled veteran at age 70 myslef, I try to keep our home and business affairs in order however, the seriousness of my health also impairs my mental and physical abilities.

My wife has overdrawn her account only because she either misundewrstood the banker when she called in for balances, or the banker provided her wrong information.  Regardless, I have stepped up three times to honor her needed deposits which are are relatively small and I have paid a $33.00 service charge as required by Greatwestern Bank.

A few months back, I went to the bank to help my wife and a banker named Jamie took my information into the branch managers office.  The door was open and I could hear Jamie giving the manager untrue information.  I stepped up to the doorway to politely wait to be invited into the conversation.

However, the manager named SARA, held her hand up to me, raised her voice and asked me IF I couldn't see she was busy?  I answered, polietly and said I simply want to provide you the correct information, because Jamie has facts wrong.  SARA replied "Yelling at Me"!! Get out of my office and I will get to you when I am ready!  I was not in SARA's office, I was outside her door and I was very embarrassed in front of other customer!

Jamie gave me a SMUG look like, were a team and had her head so far up SARA's ........ that it was sick.

Months later I was in the same branch because the banker once again gave my wife conflicting information and I went take care of the issue.  The teller told me that I would need to talk to the manager.  Well, SARA was no longer there so I pointed to a guy in shirt and tie and asked that guy?  His name is Bryan or Ryan and he YELLED at me across the bank.... "Don't Point Your Finger at Me!  I was shocked!  I told him that I had a dispute with his branch, he replied, "If you don't like how we do business, I shut your **** account down"!  WOW !!!

This past payday after my direct deposits were accounted for, I went to another branch and took my money out.  I am going to a Bank that TREATS its customers with RESPECT !!

Its sad, because, there are some wonderful employee's at Greatwestern and for some reason, Jamie is allowed to suck up to managers and talk about customers behind their backas and cause them problems.  Which she still does!  SARA is allowed to YELL vulgarities at Greatwestern Customers and get away with it.   Bryan or Ryan is allowed to Yell vulgarities and threaten Greatwestern Customers and get away with it!

So from two disabled and a 70 year old disable veteran, I suggest the word passed around to beware of Jamie now at 84th and Hwy 370 Bellevue, SARA wherever she has been promoted to by GWB and Bryan - Ryan at Twin Creeks Branch Belklevue Nebraska.

NO ONE has the RIGHT to manipulate customers accounts, misrepresent customer account information, disclose customer account information with others including other employees/managers with wilfull and malicious intent to cause the customer harm!  And NO ONE has the right to YELL Vulgarities to a customer in an isolated setting and or in a PUBLIC area with others present, especially in the Bank!

Christine Hamilton

My husband served in the military and was deployed four time to forign lands durring war time.  He has serious service connected health issues that will cause his continued decline of health and his passing.  He is 70 Years Old.  Greatwestern should be ASHAMED!!!!

Greatwestern Bank is a Great Bank.... My Issue is...

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 03, 2015

Frome the Original Posters Husband:

Over the Years Greatwestern Bank has been a Par Excellent Bank and I believe that it remains Great!

The Posting was intended to spotlight three Individuals that work for Greatwestern that seem to think that their employment comes with the authority to violate people, because they HAVE acess to accounts and can be a THREAT to those that rebuke their self-appopinted authority!

Sara, Jamie and Bryan all at or having worked at the Twin Creek Branch have gone beyond their employee capacity of authority!

However, I stayed with Greatwestern because a GREAT bank manager Adam and a GREAT senior banker Brandon because they kept the professional pace of service that I trust is a Greatwestern policy.  And infact they went beyond any service that I have ever recieved from any bank in the past fifty plus years.

I recommend Greatwesten Bank to anyone, employee's in any business may be rotten and pull the wool over their employers eyes, but in time the ax always comes down.  Ugly people are confronted by repercussions and their choices become their destiny!

So, to Greatwestern Bank, please accept that your service has been Par Excellent!  I hope for your integrity that you listen to the few or many customers that need assistance and investigate the roots that are growing rotten fruit and hurting your customers.

Christines Husband.

General Comment – USA

General Comment #2. and  #3.

1. Two Branches – Two Separate Overdrafts – Two Separate incidents at the same branch and Three Separate incidents A. Jamie and Sara, B. Bryan or Ryan - C. Today I went to the bank with my friend and a CPA to discuss the account and Bank Charges.  The reception was bull-headed and arrogant.

2.  The Poem is in correlation to Artwork of the American Flag being Symbolic of a Great nation that has succumb the Political and Commerce Dictations covertly weighed against the American Citizens which are infinite in nature impaired by a force which has unwoven the moral fabric of our Nation.

3. I ask you as a citizen and Veteran?  Do you gather knowledge from America’s history and the evolution of the issues that are threatening your family and neighbors?   Are you aware of the recent scams by financial institutions that destroyed the lives of thousands of families and took their homes or the Trillion Dollar Bailout that was imposed on American taxpayers?

My wife was hit by a police officer chasing a bank robber in Omaha, Nebraska and she nearly died from head injuries.

My service connected disability has cause 5 –bypasses, two cancer removals, cataract surgery, internal organ damage and untreatable Cerebral Interior Artery Blockage that have caused 4 strokes all of which have occurred in the past 4 years.

Perhaps, my wife and I don’t remember as we once did and we have always been honest in banking and trusted the bankers to do the same.  And indeed we have made mistakes in our bank account, however, my direct deposits into my mine and my wife’s accounts are substantial enough that the bank should have little worry.  However, being seemly cheated out of money by the bank in conjunction with being insulted and bullied is gravely unwarranted.

Just to add

Some of my comments were already brought up so I will leave those as is.

However, take a deeper look at those numbers...

The THREE banks got 1 Billion in overdrafts, sounds bad right?  Even to the point where the article starts off by saying that these are a "big money maker" for the banks.  Yet if you read further we find out that with these 3 banks it makes up a grand total of less than 6% of their Non-Interest revenue.  What does that mean...it means that 94% of their Non-Interest income is earned through other means.  Hardly a "big" money maker wouldn't you agree.  As even if all overdraft fees were elimited today, they would only loose 6% of there revenue.

Of course this is not even to mention your report is not even on any of those banks.

One final item...there is a way to eliminate almost all overdraft fees and that is to do exactly as suggested before.  Keep an accurate written register.  If you can't(or won't) do that then either find an accountant who will be glad to do it for you(for a fee) or handle everything in cash.  That way it is very simple to see when you have no more money to spend.

Correction...

AUTHOR: Striderq - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 02, 2015

in my previous post I said PNC and it should be Greatwestern. Sorry for the mistake.

By the way, why is the flag backwards in the graphics you included with your post??? Everyone (especially vets) should know the stars go in the upper left corner when the flag is displayed.

There's the problem right there...

AUTHOR: Striderq - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 02, 2015

...your math skills. You state two banks took in the money in 60 days. And yet the proof you provide states three banks in three months (90 days). Since you can't keep the mathe right from the article, you probably are not keeping it right in your register.

You react to postings here with name calling and extreme dislike. And yet at the bank, you stood there "politely". Your words and your actions do not agree, and actions are much better indicators of the truth.

Your "friend" Duane posted because he knows the truth. You state that he was with you at the bank "today" and witnessed the incidents that took place weeks or months ago.

Things like this just tear down your integrity and make your report against PNC very hard to believe.

And NO, I don't work for them. But I also am a disabled Vet and I deeply resent you trying to use this as an excuse for your inability to be financially responsible.

Overdraft Fees Top $1 Billion at the Big 3 Banks

By Heather Long  @byHeatherLong

You aren't alone if you've ever been hit with an overdraft fee from your bank.

America's three biggest banks -- JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Bank of America (BAC) and Wells Fargo (WFC) -- made more than $1.1 billion on overdraft fees in the first three months of the year.

Despite efforts to curb these charges after the financial crisis, they are still a big money maker for banks.

If the fee collection pace keeps up, the big three banks are on track bring in $4.5 billion in overdraft charges by the end of this year. That works out to about $20 for every American adult.

Related: ATM fees surge again

Banks aren't supposed to charge customers overdraft fees when they use an ATM to get cash unless the customer chooses or "opts in" to get the cash despite the fee.

That said, banks can still levy a fee if someone's balance goes negative because a check is cashed or an automatic payment such as rent goes through and there aren't sufficient funds to cover it.

A 2014 Pew study found more than half of the people who overdrew their checking accounts in the past year didn't remember consenting to the overdraft service.

By law, people can also opt out of ATM overdrafts at any time. That way they will not be able to take out money at an ATM if their account balance would fall below $0.

Related: Consumers are still getting hit with huge overdraft fees

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is currently examining overdraft fees, especially when someone is charged multiple fees a day. The typical overdraft fee is $35.

Banks had to disclose their overdraft fees for the first time this year. While the biggest banks have the most eye-popping figures, overdraft fees account for less than 6% of non-interest revenue at JPMorgan, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, according to an analysis by SNL Financial.

These large banks have many other avenues to make money such as stock and bond trading, investment funds and moving money around for big business customers.

In contrast, some smaller banks have become heavily reliant on overdraft fees to make money.

Woodforest National Bank and First National Bank Texas both get more than 40% of their of non-interest revenue from overdraft charges, according to SNL Financial. The median is under 8%.

Both banks are headquartered in Texas -- Woodforest operates over 750 branches in 17 states, while First National is active in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and has over 280 branches.

"These banks are highly reliant on these charges." says Tyler Hall, a senior bank analyst at SNL Financial. "It just points out that's their business model."

In all, the nearly 600 U.S. banks that had to disclose their overdraft fees made just over $2.5 billion from consumers who overdrew their accounts in January, February or March.

Banks Plead Guilty to Market Rigging

Group of banks fined more than $5 billion, will plead guilty to rigging global currency markets

This combination made from file photos shows signage for four banks, Barclays, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and the Royal Bank of Scotland ,that will pay $2.5 billion in fines and plead guilty to criminally manipulating global currency market going back to 2007. The banks conspired with one another to fix rates on U.S. dollars and euros traded in the huge global market for currencies, according to a settlement announced Wednesday, between the banks and U.S. Justice Department.    Associated Press May 20, 2015 | 12:57 p.m. EDT

You do realize

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, June 01, 2015

I hope you do realize that every post you as the author make, it is identified as such.  So even though you have come here as Christine, Christine's Husband, and now Christine's Friend...you are identified as being the same person which is the original author.

Now onto your "ripoff".

If as you claim your wife's memor fails her from time to time.  The best way to combat that is to somehow make a note that she withdrew money from her account.  Now, let's think how could she do that?  Umm....ding..ding..ding....She could use a Written Register.  You must know what one of those are as you are 70 and had a bank account well before anything even remotely "automated".    Because I am sure you remember when you used a written register and wrote down every transaction when you made it, it make it very hard to forget because all you have to do is look back in your register.

So yes, especially in your case any overdraft fee is the fault of you and your wife...the bank is NOT at fault.   So I am very curious as to what "false" information the employee was giving sara?  Not only that but you then want us to believe that even though there was this false information going around you just stood at the door politely?  Okay....yea.

Then we jump to months later.  Again you are totally innocent in this and with you doing nothing more than asking for the manager he yells at you across the room for no reason...again..okay..yea.

And yes, just by the response all of your alter ego's have given, it is very obvious that there is more to this story.  Especially in how you were acting.  Look don't get me wrong I respect and support you or your husband or your friend..who ever is the real veteran.  But that doesn't give you the right to come off most likely like a total jerk and it does not give you an excuse to not take responsibility over your account.  In fact...as a veteran you should be taking MORE responsibility.

Oh and just so you are aware that banks are always under "investigation"..it makes good news and keeps the politicians active in making it looks like they are actually doing something.  By the way can you please provide a source for your claim that the two banks you listed took over a billion dollars in 60 days?

Respect??

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, June 01, 2015

How can YOU sit there and be abusive and DEMAND respect?? YOU are the one acting out, THEY are just RESPONDING to YOUR attitude. YOU are 70 years old, at what point did YOU lose YOUR MANNERS?? Despite what YOU think, YOU do NOT get the right no matter WHAT your age is to act out in public. Its THIER business and if THEY dont like YOU yelling and making a scene then its thier right to no longer do business with YOU. YOU should try acting MORE like an adult and less like a spoiled child. IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOUR OR YOUR WIFES PERSONAL ISSUES ARE!!!!! Its NOT the banks concern AT ALL!!! THIER JOB is to manage money and NOT an outlet for YOUR crappy existance. Sorry to say this but YOU want MORE then YOU are willing to give!! YOU demand RESPECT!!! YOU DEMAND UNDERTSANDING!!! YOU DEMAND THAT THEY TAKE YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES AS A FACTOR IN THIER JOB!!!! Yet YOU treat them LESS then HUMAN!!! And YOU wonder WHY they get upset with YOU!!! Grow up pops!! All of my family are Vets and NONE of them are acting as self entitled as YOU are!!

YOU SIR embarrass yourself. YOU who posts on a PUBLIC FORUM has the NERVE to comment at what another poster has to say?? if YOU dont like it then that is TOO BAD!!!!YOU CHOSE to post on a public forum. MANY businesses NEVER use Ripoff report so THEY would NEVER see your post. Only those consumers that frequent THIS SITE are going to see YOUR report. Since YOU CHOSE to post, WE chose to tell YOU that we are not buying what YOU are trying to push.

Stacy How Big is Your Nose ?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 01, 2015

It is every banker customers responsibility to manage their accounts I agree, it is not a question.  So Miss Nose Itall, the issue is the unprofessional manner of the bank manegment when a customer asked for help!

Did I list the overdraft amounts NO!  Did I publish the harhness and abusive manner of how the bank employees reacted to our asking for help?  Yes!

And as for my Disabled Veteran condition, I am currently dying with service connected health impairments.  And I lost my two best friends on the same day, both killed.  So from a man that has upheld the American Flag and given even indignant Morons like you the Opportunity of Free Press, unless you can strap war gear on your back and face an enemy that has one aim to KILL you, and survive you do not have any thing to add to any Veterans story or feelings!

Christines Husband....

However, YOUR rebuttel is validation that their is indeed ignorance and hate within the minds of too many citizens.  And thus the morals of a Nation decay.

Are You Aware as of May 24, 2015 banks are under investigation for overdrafts and BS charges?  Chase and Citi - Bank took over a BILLION Dollars from Customers in 60 days!  I wonder how ALL of these people mismanaged their accounts or was it " BANKS COOKING THEIR BOOKS" ?

It is your responsibility

AUTHOR: Stacey - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, May 31, 2015

To maintain your bank account including balancing your bank statement, checkbook and not to spend monies you do not have.  NOT the bank's fault if you or your spouse overdraft your account.  Learn to manage your money and stop blaming the bank for YOUR mistakes.

IF your spouse is incapacitated due to any circumstances ie: dementia - she has no business using any debit card because of her inability to function.  Therefore you are in the "hot seat' by allowing her to manage any finances.  This falls on you as the caregiver unless you are, yourself, unable to manage any finances yourself.  So I suggest you obtain a POA on your accounts to stop your wife/spouse from abusing her/his ability to access monies and overdraft the accounts.

THIS falls (once again) on you.  STOP blaming others for the fact that you cannot maintain your bank accounts and STOP using the "disabled veteran" crap!!! My Grandfathers were veterans of WWI and WWII and maintain their business and accounts without blaming others. And NO I do not work for this bank.

As for those people calling you names and using vulgarity I highly doubt that happened.
