Green Valley Growers Terrible Experience Ashland Ohio

An employee of Green Valley Growers was extremely rude to my wife to the point it made her cry.
My wife went to Green Valley Growers on 6/21/16. Unknown to her they just closed for the season, but still had people there working.

My wife went there to ask some questions about buying mulch and was treated so rudely by a Green Valley Grower employee to the point she was in tears afterwards. My wife walked up to an employee and asked if she could buy mulch and he responded rudely in words and condescendingly in tone towards her. After that, my wife walked away, but in passing saw some flowers in the trash and always looking for a bargain, asked if she could have them since they were being thrown out. The rude employee responded in an off the wall, bizarre comment by saying that she would go to jail if she took them. She tried to tell him she didn't mean she would just take them, but he completely ignored her. At that point, feeling abused and talked to in such a negatively disrespectful way, she just went back to her vehicle and left, calling me in tears.

When I called the owner to make a complaint, instead of receiving an apology (which would've be a reasonable response from a businessperson properly educated in customer relations), he was rude to me and did not apologize to me. Instead, he made excuses, and inferred I was lying about what happened, and kept attempting to turn everything I was saying around on me in a very manipulative way.

Then...for whatever reason he had decided to call me back, but he got my wife instead. And he was arrogant and belittling to her! He made nothing but excuses and tried to turn what she said around on her too.

His only explanation to my wife was that the guy who was originally rude was joking! This is the owner of the company saying this! He began the conversation saying that her (speaking about me) husband was having a battle of words with them! Seriously, who says that! What does that even mean?! And when is making a legitamate complaint about an employee, and then having to defend your complaint to a rude owner who is supposed to at least pretend to care a battle of words?!

He also corrected her when she explained that she was a customer and deserved to be treated with courtesy by saying, she wasn't a customer because they were closed! He also derided her about when she asked the rude employee about the flowers being thrown away by telling her something to the effect of, so you are the one who wanted to crawl around our dumpster looking for flowers! There is a lot more that he said that was bizarre, condescending, shocking, and sad, but I think that is enough to make my point that we were not only treated bad by the employee but by the owner too (nor did the owner change his attitude after he found out one of his employee's behavior caused a woman to cry)!

I obviously would not recommend doing business with them.
