I was contacted by Dale O'Connor.  He informed me that my mortgage companies had agreed to a modification.  First mortgage - 2.15% & 2nd mortgage - 3.25%.  I paid the money($2895).  I made repeated call always being adviced everything was fine and on course.  he also adviced me to call my mortgage companies and give them his phone number as my contact number.

My file changed from one person to another.  The September 5th deadline came and went.  By this time, it was impossible to get someone to answer the phone or return my calls.  The last message I received said Green Tree Services (Paula Wilson) declined my modification because I made too much money.  My repayment plan was $772 for 1 month; then $1283 for 5 months. No one will return my calls or emails.

I have made repeated calls and email with no replies.  My mortgage was up to date. I accepted the offer because i have multiple sclerosis.  If something should happen and could no longer work, my payment would be low enough that I could pay with my retirement. The stress from this ordeal has accelerated my MS.

Your first step.

Every state has a regulatory agency that deals with financial institutions.  The Dept. of Banking and insurance is the agencey in my state.  You first have to figure out if you applied for a mortgage, and or a loan modification.  If this is the case determine if the person you spoke with is registered in the NMLS.  If the person is not listed and you applied for a loan contact the Dept. of Banking in your state.  If you paid in advance for "help" in modifyin your loan contact the AG's office in your state.  In almost all states, collecting fees in advance for loan modification is illegal.  If you really are determined you can go to your local P.D. and if they are not too busy can investigate this for you.  Doubtful they will asst. you as " crime" is their first focus.  It sounds like you paid upfront fees to a sham loan Mod. company.  There has never been a %2 mortgage loan.
