I have paid for 13 years on my mobile home. Two years ago I got behind 3 payments due to illness and a bad divorce. I called Green Tree, begging and pleading for them to work with me some how on this past due payments. I was told "NO", plus I was spoke to VERY rudely by Anthony in collections and Mr. Bowland who is suppose to be my account rep. Then they went so far as to have people come to my home to harrass me and my neighbors, letting them all know my personal business.
I was then sent a foreclosure notice forcing me to go into bankruptcy to keep my home. A bankruptcy for the amount of $934.29 is the amount I was behind (3 payments). My bankruptcy was dismissed on 7-15-08. Greentree immediately contacted me to let me know that I now owed $10,480.29, they are giving me 30 days to come up with this or they will start foreclosure again. How in the world did I go from $934.29 to over $10,000.00???? They do not care to explain to me how this happened just that after the 30 days we will foreclose on your home.
I am a single, 60 yr old woman living on social security and getting real close to a nervous breakdown over the thought of losing my home. There has to be a way to stop this horrible company from all the damage they cause in peoples lives. I suppose me alone cannot stop what they do, and I am just at a stand still as to what Im going to do to solve this situation.

Conseco changed their name to Greentree they are the same company and definitely have harsh and some illegal practices. This is a known fact. I'm sorry you are going through this with them. Contact a lawyer as soon as possible, and talk all your information with you. There are 2 lawyers that I know so far that are helping people with their claims again Greentree. They are like Coutrywide and they can only last so long before they are stopped. The lawyer told me this. Let them enjoy the ride before they get slapped down. It will happen sooner than they realize.

Green Tree Financial has not been owned by Conseco for YEARS. Conseco is no longer in the mortgage business. Take care with your comments: companies can and will take you to court for slander, which only adds to your financial woes.
Sorry for your troubles, but Conseco has nothing to do with them.

Miss Nancy if you read my other posts i will say in this case they shouldve thought about a deferral. The only bad thing is you're only given 5 in the life of your loan. Your acct rep will look at your pymnt history, and determine if he wants to do a deferral with you and then that depends on his deferral budget (dont tell them that) if you were 1 mo behind they wouldve been able to work with you, but 3 mos they are now wanting the full amt up to date or the home. If bankruptcy was your only option and then it was dismissed they can still pursue for the $10k thats owed. if you started out owing 936 and now owe 10,000 you have accumulated interests. it may or may not be too late i hope you still have your home. If they foreclose on you then your worries have only gotten bigger
