We originally signed up to buy a GSD puppy from this breeder. Just before we were ready to pick up, he mentioned having a "fully trained" 1-year old for sale. We decided to buy this one for additional money.
On the day we drove to pick up the dog, Augusto became not available and had us get the dog from his "roommate".
This dog had numerous health problems (giardiasis, anaplasmosis, others). She also was not remotely obediance trained. He was not able to produce *any* health records or litter records. Basically, just about everything he said about this dog was untrue. He even tried to convince us that she was listed with a different name and DOB at the vets.
This dog bit my son. It wasn't so much aggressive as much as she was playing, but she wouldn't let go and broke skin. We had to give her away at a loss of a lot of money and a lot of family disappointment. We also had lots of vet bills.
Augusto offered to take her back until we agreed, then he said he had no money and no ability to take her back. He has been completely unremorseful about what he has put us through and it appears that this is a pattern with him.
We were scammed, plain and simple. I love GSDs, but will probably never be able to have another due to the family's experience with this one.

I am Eva Berg and am being accused of being associated with Griffin Shepherds. I have NO association with this kennel and never did! I would like everyone to read my complaint about Alpine K9 kennels and warn you about filing any complaints against a dog breeder. My complaint resulted me being harassed online, lied about (it still continues now for FIVE YEARS) and the breeder and his friends made up so many lies and called everyone in my town and wrote lies about me on pedigree database,com and other message boards at AlpineK9.com and anytime I wrote any rebuttals they were deleted! Anyone who attempted to defend me was accused of being me under a false name. I have been accused of being so many people I must have hundreds of aliases now according to these people.
So, be careful about complaining. These people I complained about TURNED IT ALL AROUND AGAINST ME and had my dogs taken away. Yes...they accused me of making the dog sick on purpose to get my money back! If you get ripped off by a breeder, suck it up or you will get blamed and RUINED! The fact is...nobody cares. Nobody cares about how disappointed you are, how much your vet bills are, nothing.
And once and for all...I have never had any dealings with Griffin Shepherd Kennels, so leave me out of it!!!
