I approached Groom's Engines in the later part of 2000 (About August) and inquired into having a "Manufactured" engine installed in a 1993 Ford E-150 custom Van. I was referred to their "Installation Shop", whereas the manager and I discussed price, time of work and warranty.

Groom's Engines uses the cover entity The Engine Store as a "separate but same" division of Groom's engines and claims that they, (Groom's) has NOTHING to do with The Engine Store, that performs ALL of Groom's Engine's installations." service that installs ALL of their engines in the Nashville, TN area.

I went ahead and left a $1,000 deposit and the vehicle. 4 months later, the vehicle STILL wasn't ready. I finally got the vehicle back @ Christmas time, 2000. I went from Nashville to the Atlanta, GA area and started having engine problems during that trip. I returned toward Nashville and had the shop flatbed the van the last 40 miles of the trip.

Got the vehicle back out of the shop @ early 2001. More problems, back into the shop. Got the van back out @ mid 2001, went to Florida. Engine almost vibrated out of the frame. Had to tow the van back to Nashville, my expense. Demanded a NEW engine be installed as per my initial agreement.

Finally, I had a second "block" was installed around November, 2001 toward the end of my initial warranty, NO WARRANTY was ISSUED on this "New" block. Remember, I never recieved what I had initially agreed to purchase and paid for. Groom's Engine and "The Engine Store" installed a REBUILT engine and never once honored their warranty.

AFTER getting ripped off, I called the local Ford Dealership and inquired as to Groom's practices of Ford Products and the Manager stated, "We have absolutely no dealings with Grooms nor will we comment any further as to their business practices".

Now over $4,000 invested in towing back and forth to the shop as well as the initial $4,000 spent on this NEW piece of crap.
