I had the misfortune of having my mortgage sold to Gauranty Bank 10 years ago and it has been one issue after another.
My current problem is trying to get money back that they took fraudulantly.
Last year I got a letter that since I didn't have homeowners insurance (I did) that they were charging me $2100.00 to fund it themselves. They increased my morgage payments by $200.00 a month to cover it.
I've called, my insurance company has called, we've both faxed copies of my policy several times, to no avail till now.
They finally admitted that I have homeowners insurance and put the $2100.00 back into my escrow account and are lowering my mortgae payments back to what they were.
They won't give me back the money. They told me they were only able to lower my payments because I had this money in my escrow.
I have a fixed mortgage. My payments only went up because they were trying to get me to pay for insurance I already had!
I'm getting close to bringing in a lawyer.

If you have a choice.......don't.......the only Guaranty is problems!
