On July 28, 2015, I contacted Guardian Moving Systems to schedule a long distance move from Camden, NJ to Lone Tree, CO.  The representative from Guardian assured me that the company was competent and could perform the move.  I informed the representative that I needed my belongs by Thursday, August 13th, 2015.  I asked the representative when would they need to pick up my belongings, and he said Thursday, August 6th.  I then scheduled the move and paid the deposit.

The price was based on the smallest space within a trailer to be transported.   On August 4th, I contact Guardian Moving Systems to alert them about my inventory and the correct number of items.  The representatives quoted me with 3x the amount of stuff even though I told him I didn’t have much.  When I called, I also told them that they could drop the belongings off as early as Sunday, August 9th.  I was informed that I would be contacted by the driver 24 hours in advance with a pickup day of Thursday, August 6 and a backup day of Friday, August 7th

I was never contacted on August 5th.  On August 6th, I received a phone call at 2pm by the driver telling me that he was on his way to my address and would be there 2 hours.  I had to leave work to meet him at my apartment.  The move went as expected. All my things were taken and loaded upon the truck.  When the driver calculated the costs, his price was $400 cheaper than the original quote based on what I had. After I gave him the estimate, he put random fees on the contract to make up the difference without proper explanation.

It is now, Thursday, August 27, 2015 and I still haven’t received my belongings.  The estimated time was 5 – 14 days.  This time has come and gone.  Now I have been told that it could take up to 21 business days, a detail missing in an paperwork I received.  I have no idea when my stuff will arrive and I have been living out of my suitcase since August 6th.  This move is not that far and should not take 3 weeks.  This is unacceptable and I am requesting a full refund or my things to be delivered within the next 3 business days.

UPDATE: It is now Saturday, September 5, 2015 and I received my stuff today.  They told me they would be here around noon and showed up at 6:30pm.  Then the guy tried to get more money from me because he didn't think he could bring the truck into the complex.  He did that with no problem.  I paid him cash and I saw my stuff horribly packed on top of each other.  My bins were squished and my flatscreen was damaged (Cracked Screen).  Poor moving services and this has been the worst experience ever.  From now on, I will just do a UHaul unless I have no other choice.
