guarenteed rate Unresponsive and inefficient company, caused unecessary stress and cost Chicago, Illinois

Would recommend avoiding this company.   I believe is a larger company, with offices throughout the US.  These  'Offices' I believe are actually home offices, and the ones in Hartford, CT area are the primary source of complaint here.

The process started off well with loan officer (think that the title), initials 'LO'.    However in the end this person was unresponsive, unsupportive, and only thing was good at, was pointing fingers at other members or departments, of her company.  This in myself trying to obtain status of loan completion (confirm to close, final process).

Between 'LO' and other members of the local office, and I am sure national office also, totally neglected the process.   This caused an unnecessary delayed closing.   This caused a tremendous amount of stress, and additional property storage and moving costs.   What should have been a routine closing, with PLENTY of lead time, became a delayed, rushed closing process.  Again, TOTALLY unnecessary!

The botched closing by Guaranteed Rate (GR) staff had nothing do with our credit ect, but all to do with their incompetence!   My guess is that between time the loan was approved (not pre-approval, but confirmation as required by sales agreement), and final 'confirm to close' status, the loan went into a 'black hole' at GR!

After we FINALLY closed, there was absolutely no followup by this loan officer ('LO"), or anyone at the Hartford office.  (several other contacts there, 'AF', and 'CF', were also equally unresponsive)   After a week or so after the closing, I received a 'standard feedback' email from GR itself, inquiring how loan process went.   I responded with a polite, but detailed response regarding our total dissatisfaction.   The GR response to this reply?.....there was none!

Closing note, before first loan payment was made, the loan was sold.   I know this in itself is not unusual, however no notification by GR regarding this.  Notification was from another loan company that did not even mention GR in their letter!  Questioning if letter was legitimate, I contacted GR to verify, which they did...but really?...GR could not have had the decency to notify me of this???

Are all their loan processes like this?  No clue, but I would NEVER, under any circumstance recommend this company, ESPECIALLY to anyone in the Hartford, CT area!

P.s.  In end their loan rates aren't that great, and our transaction attorney stated by far the worst loan company they had ever worked with......I feel I got ripped off, primarily by the horrible customer service!
