As I was taking my lunch break this GMC SUV pulls over and awell dressed Italian guy calls me and asks me if I am Italian, I told him not really, I'm dutch.
He told me he worked for Armani and that he was one of the managers and hands me out a card that was really cheap looking and it said: (still have it with me)

So he parked and asked me to get in the car, it's summer so hey, why not? And I was in the middle of a Safeway parking lot so I wasn't that worried. He started explaining that he was ashamed of what he did last night because he went drinking with some lady at the hotel and that she took his money when he was drunk, and blah blah (while he was talking all I was could think of was I hope this guy is not some mafia soprano style). Then he steps out of the car and goes to the back seat and pulls out 2 leather Armani jackets for men another suede jacket and 2 pink ones for women. And tells me that these are original Armani's (they looked original, in fact they looked as good as new) he took out his lighter and showed me how it was real suede by trying to burn the material, I was almost impressed with his selling skills. But then he told me that he needed money right now because his flight was in about an hour, showed me his ticket and passport and that he had to return his rental car, but he didn't have enough money to pay for it. Somehow he was getting two stories mixed up, his other story was that he was trying to sell them because if he took them back to Italy he would have to pay too much tax on them... uhm... yeah right it's not like you can't say they are yours. And what, are you pay taxes on your clothes???
I kept saying no and he lowered the price to 300, and brought 3 more jackets and a shirt at this point I was starting to feel awkward because no one in this world is going to sell 9 Armani jackets and a shirt for 300 bucks unless it's stolen. Then he asked me said "do you like Italian people?" I said yes, "would you be offended if I gave you these just for buying the other clothes?", I just said no again... His eyes were turning red as if he was going to cry, then someone calls him on his cell (that nokia was probably from 2001 because it looked old) and he spoke with someone in Italian for about 10 sec and hung up. And said yeah I have to go so lets go to an ATM so you can get the money. At that point I just told him sorry I don't have my cards with me.
And he asked me what bank I had my account in because we could go in and pull out the money using my ID. I stepped out of the car and he continued insisting and I just continued saying no until he got pissed at me and told me that how could I do this to him, because if he would go back to Italy he was going to get fired and that in Italy people help strangers, not like here! Once he noticed that I was definitely not going to buy his clothes he said "next time I run into a Dutch who needs help I will not help him" haha... I just wanted to laugh at that point but just walked away into Safeway.
------
All I can say is that the deal looked very good and perhaps I wasted a good chance... or who knows maybe it was stolen merchandise, but I didn't get a good feeling about this guy.
Careful out there,
I think the best thing is just to say no right away instead of streching it for 20 min like I did because you might just waste precious time, especially if you are on your lunch break... like I was ;o)
The safeway is at this location:

though I doubt he is going to be there again.
