I purchased a DVD (Guitar Secrets) July 2013. I forgot about it and in Dec he sent me an email stating he updated that DVD $4.95 ... I bought it. It is the same DVD, no update at all. FURTHER MORE he's been nailing my credit card $19.95 for the past 8 months ... I only saw it when I'm doing my deductions for taxes 2013.
$160 basically charged, secretly, without my knowledge. I never confirmed my cancellation. My error in judgement, but more of a time constraint, and trusting a business person to be reputable.
Let's see how he handles it.

Sounds you got the expected result by failing to properly cancel.
How could he "secretly be charging you for EIGHT MONTHS on you credit card? Looks pretty out in the open to me. It's not their fault that you don't check you cc charges EVERY month.
Hope you keep a little better track of your other finances.
