The service and sales department have a scam going on and it goes something like this.. When you buy a used or new car from any of the rohrman stores you will be offered a extended warrant called ccc (certifiedcarcare). this is suppose to be a extendid warranty like western deversified or api but its nothing like it. those two warrany companies are in the buissines of keeping customers happy, not ccc, that company if you do your research is located in the same town as the rohrman home base in indiana (ironic?) well this warant is actualy owned by the same owner as the dealerships.

If you know how the warranty process works you will understand it better.
The car is first brought into service where the service manager (mark s.) inspects the car. The major problems are then addresed and repaired is sales pays for it. a repair order is generated and is on file with service in their adp system which is avalible for all to see. and these things dont get lost in the system, dont belive that cus i am very familiar with the abp system and it is very good at storing information. this is where the inspection for the car will be on record. once everything is repaired the car may be certified for a extended warranty.

But the rohrman dealerships will not allow you to buy anything but their own. CCC. The problem with that is that when you purchase the warranty you put money into bobs pocket. the money goes in a pool and should then be used to repair your car when it brakes, but if the same person is colecting and having to pay out than it is not in their best intrest since the money is coming out of the same pocket.
Ask mark s. about this. he may get a bit uptight when he hears that you know this but thats just him. And do yourself a favor, dont ever deal with him on monday or in the mornings, he will be in a very bad mood with a bad headache usualy from the night before. This whole warrant is a rip off. they will make every excuse not to fix your car and blame you for not performing maintenance or something like this to get away from having to pay for fixin g it.

Stay away from the rohrman stores, their ccc warranty and the service department of the gurnee store, the manager is a very unresonable person to deal with as i have experienced in the first place. i have found all of this out from a former emploee of the auto group who was very reluctant to say this. But he mentioned all the kickbacks that john h. gets, and his drunken managers are bad news. Take your car to different dealers if you have this warranty, they will fix it right, since there is no conflict of intrest there. dont deal with these scam artists, they dont car about you, just their numbers at the end of the month when they sit down, and fixing your car under this warranty brings these #'s down.

i have tried to contact the manager of the service departament threw their website with no luck. after finding this report i complained to the management because i have had a very similar incident at the same dealership involving the same Certified Car Care warranty.

I purchased a 2000 oldsmobile alero at oldsmobileof morton grove (same owner and gurnee) and when i wanted a extendid warranty, the only thing that was avalible was this ccc warranty. i had western deversified in the past and was familiar with their service and asked why i could not get it at their dealership. the response i got was that the owner only authorized us to sell this ccc exclusevly. if i would have known he was the owner i would have NEVER BOUGHT IT. This obviously creates a conflict of intrest for te service department.
After a fev months i began to have some drivebility problems and some reception problems with my radio. when i took it back to olds they went out of business but when i called them a message directed me to their gurnee store. The car to this day was in 5 times for the same 2 problems with e very time a part that "is not under warranty" was replaced. they would not fix the problem just make excuses why the repair was not covered.

I decided to take my car elsware and on the first try they replaced the radio which was covered and 3 injectors which were also covered. these repairs instantly solved my problems, i called gurnee back and spoke to the general manager and told him my situation and he pretty much said to bad, you should have brought it back here.

i worked with the person listed above. although mark may be not in the greatest of moods in the mornings he still is a nice guy. a persons drinking should not ere, be involved here unless it is relevant to the story. i am now a shop owner in winetka and first hand experience showed me that warranty infact was junk. it did nothing for anybody but put money in the owners pocket at first and then it was up to the manager to make any excuse posible to the customer to not cover the claim so john would not get down your back.

there is a person who would be able to answer any questions about your problem. he was marks asistant back when oldsmobile was near your home in morton grove. i belive he still lives there to. his name was derrick, belive he will be able to answer any questions fairly since he is no longer working for the company and has nothing to lose. I wonder what happened to him anyway, i seen him last about a year ago, he is now a whloesaler, saw him at chicagos greater auto auction. if you would like any info i think he was the one who procesed most of the claims for that dealer. Just post your questions below...
