I've purchased a number of Half Off Depot offers and used them without a problem.  But, this time I purrchased a $20 certificate for $40 worth flowers on www.flowers-nationwide.com.  When I went to use this certificate, the flower website doubles the price of the arrangement, then deducts my certificate for a net savings (you got it) of zero.  It actually would cost me more money given that I paid $20 for the certificate.  So, I did not use this certificate and contacted halfoffdepot.com to ask for a refund.  Their response...no way!!   Here is the interchange with them:

Message:I bought the Flowers Nationwide $40 Voucher.  On their website I selected an arrangement with a cost of 42.95.  When I enter my certificate, it changes the price to 82.95.  Less my $40 Half Off Depot voucher puts me right back to 42.95.  I called Flowers Nationwide, and they said the certificate is good towards the non-discounted price of 82.95.  But, guess what?  I can get the discounted price without my Half Off Depot certificate.

Please refund this certificate back to my credit card immediately.  I do not want a credit to my account.  Refund my money.  This certificate is nonsense.

Date:2012-02-14 15:13:46Name:HOD Customer SupportMessage:I apologize but this sale is final. Restrictions listed at the time of purchase that this code was good for $40 towards any arrangement on the Flowers Nationwide website and that shipping was not included. We cannot offer credit or compensation for this purchase.

Thank you -

Customer SupportDate:2012-02-17 18:02:Message:I will dispute this on my credit card and never use Half Off Depot if this is how you treat your customers.  This was clearly "bait and switch".  When a vendor charges one price for one customer and then doubles the price for someone using a half off depot certificate (which results in a higher price when using a certificate) then I can tell you that this is something that should be addressed  by our State's Commerce Commission or perhaps at a national level.Date:2012-02-20 15:32:54Name:HOD

Customer SupportMessage:I apologize however we are unable to offer a refund for this purchase.

Thanks,

Date:2012-02-20 16:14:37Message:I am now unsubscribed from your emails.  Please look for my report on ripoffreport.com and with Consumers Union.  I would prefer to have resolved this amicably, saving us both time and money.  But, you don't seem to care that your vendor is charging certificate users twice what they charge other customers.
