Beware of Halo Debt and Mike Maguire. I would like to let everyone know my situation with Halo Debt Solutions located in Dallas, Texas. I was a client or so called client of Halo Debt Solutions and initially spoke to Mike Maguire about the halo debt settlement service. Mike Maguire totally lied to me about how my accounts would be handled, in fact they where all turned over to attorneys and now they are garnishing my wages and putting a lien on my home. Mr. Maguire told me that I had no worries and that the program would not hurt my credit or personal living. Halo Financial did nothing but put me in more financial troubles than when I started their settlement program. This company totally ripped me off, not only did they put me in a real stressful situation but they stole all the money I invested into the program.
If you happen to run into Halodebt.com please think twice about using this company or Mike Maguire. Unless you want to be lied to, cheated, and mentally abused please stay away. Halo Debt Solutions is clearly trying to cheat people out of money. Mike Maguire has no remorse or care for the victim of this situation. Halo Financial should be shut down and all clients should be refunded for their actions. I am also going to write a letter to the BBB and Attorney General about the wrong doings of this company.

They are part of a looong chain of scam artists...
AUTHOR: Maq's Legal - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 15, 2009
Sorry 'Daisy', your flowery words can't cover your paper trail.
DEBT AND BANKRUPTCY SCAM ARTISTS ALL LINK TO SAME FRAUDULENT COMPANY like an INTERNET PONZI SCHEME:
1. DEBTRELIEF.US.COM
1A --BRIDGEPORT BANKRUPTCY SERVICES
2A--EASYBKSERVICES.COM
3A--CREDITSOLUTIONS.COM
4A--HALODEBTSOLUTIONS
Halo Debt Solutions, now apparently run by "Monique", was the fourth scam artist with complaints filed here at ROR, that I found linked together through fake web addresses. and that's only after one day of searching.
The only thing i know for sure right now?? The main source breeding all of this originates in Texas.
Heres how it started:
-I typed in my queries about debt solutions and bankruptcy, to inquire on the best route for me to take.
Up popped this dual link:
Bridgeport Bankruptcy/ DebtRelief.us.com
To make a long story short -I paid for and got ripped off by Bridgeport Bankruptcy. All the creditor account numbers on the docs they produced were wrong. They subsequently refused to repair the errors and cut off the one and only bizarre method they allow consumers to use to 'Contact' them.
Found a link between Bridgeport Bankruptcy and EZBKSERVICES. EZBK turns out to be exactly identical almost to the detail to Bridgeport -including the bizarre communication method, other than two different faces used on the ads. (Great accidental pun!)
-I went back to the other link, DebtRelief.us.com. Found this contact into:
1720 N Ashland Avenue
Suite 101
Chicago, IL 60622
773-227-7242
admin@debtrelief.us.com
--Sent an email to address given - was returned "No such user".
--Called the number given for two days- no answer.
--Went back to the now obviously fake DebtRelief site and filled out the short online form to 'contact me', using a fake name.
Within 24 hours I've had two calls, both asking for the person with the fake name.
The first was CREDIT SOLUTIONS. The second was HALO DEBT SOLUTIONS.
Both claimed no knowledge or affiliation with DEBTRELIEF.US or BRIDGEPORT BANKRUPTCY SERVICES OR or EZBK SERVICES.
Oh really?? The similarities in the names of the grow groups - "Solutions" vs "Services" is a no-brainer. But looking to the text and technical set ups of all 4 of those linked websites show remarkable similarties down to such trivialites as the buzz words used and even the style of message box used.

Halo Debt Solutions Mike Maguire Beware, Apology for slander
AUTHOR: Daisy R - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, October 27, 2008
I hereby want to apologize for the slanderous comment I made about Mr. Mike Maguire and Halo Debt Solutions on this site. I was not a customer of theirs and I do not live in Texas as I stated. I was with a competitor to Halo Debt Solutions at the time I made this statement. My comment backfired in that Texas is a non garnishment state and they cannot put a lien on your house as noted in the rebuttals on this web site.
I have since learned that Halo Debt Solutions represent the debt settlement industry and their clients with honesty and integrity. Just do the research.
I regret any negative reaction to Mike Maguire and Halo Debt Solutions.

Halo Debt, sorry but...

I had the WORST experience with you guys.....NEVER called me back, EXTREMELY vague, didn't tell me the whole story before I signed up...In my book, that is misleading and LYING. I trusted you guys and got reamed. You leave out the part about coming up with FULL settlement even after HEAVY FLUCTUATING monthly payments...I put my trust in you guys and will never be taken advantage of again...I HIGHLY ADVISE ANYONE TO AVOID HALO DEBT SOLUTIONS.

Really
AUTHOR: Greg - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, July 16, 2008
It would seem to me that ANY complaint that is filed should be fact checked to make sure there is no slander or misinformation put into the world. Was the compliantant SURE they lived in Texas. It looks like 2 different people shoot that down with their replies. Should the compliantant want to talk with Mr. Maguire and have that conversation moderated by someone( I do not know if Rip Off Report will do that or not) who can substantiate the parties claims.
It also looks like the respondant that seconded Mr. Maguire jumped to unfounded conclusions by impyling the debt was not eligble. How would that person know that, since the nature of the debt is not throughly discussed?? It to might be a competitor trying to "fish" for clients?? I know I would not want to become involved with that person either. Are any of these companies members of TASC? From what I can gather by the TASC website, there are regulations member companies MUST comply with to be a member.
It seems like a cowards way of doing business, if it is truly a competitor that filed the complaint. Just goes to show you anyone can say anything and there are no consecquences.
Something to think about...really

#2 REBUTTAL Individual responds
**DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE OF COMPETITOR COMPANY**
AUTHOR: Mike Maguire - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2008
After research of this report being filed, I have discovered that this is NOT a client or consumer of Halo Debt Solutions. The alligations contained in this report are false and slanderous. Texas does not garnish wages for unsecured debts and the homeowners are protected by homestead laws. On this site, I have noticed many "sales" people filing claims as "anonymous" to disrupt the reputation of the company to their very own prospect.
I request that you do not judge Halo Debt Solutions or Mike Maguire due to this slanderous report. Halo Debt Solutions and employee's of Halo Debt Solutions pride themselves on Full Disclosure to our prospects and abide by all Laws setforth by the Texas Attorney General.

Wage Garnishment in Texas
AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, February 05, 2008
If I read this correctly, your a Texas consumer. First and formost I am not picking on you, but the laws of Texas do not allow for wage garnishment except for sate or federal guaranteed debt , taxes or child support. As far as the lien on your home, that to is protected under the homestead acts in Texas. I do not doubt that mike said these lies to you, in fact it sounds like these accounts in default are state or federaly funded. They never should have been approved into the program in the first place.
There are good companies out there that can help. Google the term "debt settlement scams" for more information. I will look for your call
