This is a complaint about the construction of Victory Square Senior Apartments, located at 600 Barnes Street, N.E., Washington, DC 20019. This is an affordable housing and low income housing tax credit. The construction work was done very poorly. The building opened in Spring 2012. There has been not but problems after problems, after problems. To be more specific:  The first floor of building floods when it rains; the windows leaks when it rains; HVAC poorly installed; poor air quality; stove's exhaust poorly installed; kitchen faucet leaks under cabinet; kitchen floor separating;bathroom ceiling exhaust blows air into home; building materials contaminated with wood borrowing bugs; doors misaligned; cracks in subflooring, cracks in walls and ceiling; sand in back of toilet tank; high humidity levels year round; elecrical shorts; sparks from light switches; sparks and zaping from electrical outlets; air blowing out of intake air registers, window seals broken causing fogging. The building is a complete mess. There are problems with refrigerators not keep food cold; stoves turning on by themselves, carpet bulging; construction dust in HVAC and Kitchen Exhaust Fan, Poorly caulked windows on outside; drafty and cold rooms, mold and mildew throghout the building.

The developer, City Interests, LLC claims this building was an $18 million project! Here is the financials:  Bank of America provided tax-exempt bond financing in the form of a $7.13 million construction loan and a $1.37 million permanent loan for the project. The District of Columbia Housing Authority made a $5 million capital contribution and will provide ongoing rental and operating subsidies for the 35 public housing units there. The National Equity Fund provided $4.85 million in low-income housing tax credit equity proceeds.

I have documented most of the conditions mentioned above on "Youtube", under "Victory Square Senior Apartments".

There have been an unusual number of deaths and illinesses here.
