They will send photos of an object for sale, while the identical object & photo is being offered at an upcoming auction house for much less.

Apparently if you are willing to pay their asking price, they will go out and bid for the item and then flip it to you for a handsome gain.

As an example, a fireplace fender offered at Gorringes est. 500-800 GBP, was being offered for well over $4000.00 US by Hamshere.

This practice is misleading and unscrupulous, as they don't have the item in inventory. If they are unsuccessful at purchasing the item at auction, you get some lame excuse deflecting responsibility. This practice is never revealed to the unsuspecting buyer.

I've also had a delay in delivery, lost item that I had to track down, payment excuses, third party payment excuses, conservatory excuses, and damaged goods upon eventual arrival.
