Hello,

I felt compelled to to file a report about my former employer due to what they did to me and due to certain events that have taken place since my departure. I do want to start by saying that they have done nothing illegal to their clients or their clients money. In the short time that I was unemployed, I used this site many times to gather information about companies that wanted to interview me. I want this report to be a warning to anyone who is considering working for the Hantz Group so that they don't end up having the same experience I did.

I started working for the Hantz Group in late 2007 in a local office near my home. In all of interviews, there was a rosy and promising picture of my future painted for me. I was told that if I worked hard, I could make $75,000 my first year. However, by the time I left, I was making just over $23,000 a year in salaried position and had been cheated out of at least one bonus.

During my time there, I had endured sexual harassment, verbal abuse, and intimidation. I was not allowed to take vacations and was put on medication for high blood pressure earlier this year. My life was taken away. If I wasn't at work, chances are I was doing something work related (especially during indoor soccer season). I was called a filthy name while working there, I was always wrong and my work was never good enough (although no one in my group took the time to properly train me except for one guy, who got so frustrated when I didn't get something the first time that having him teach me anything became a nightmare for me). To go to HR would have caused me to lose my job.

The events that caused me to leave the Hantz Group started on March 31 of 2009. My supervisior, Tom, called me into his office around 8pm. He informed that I had to book 26 business to meet with us on benefits in the second quarter by the end of June or my job was gone. In the next breath he told me that if I was caught looking for another job, I was gone just that much sooner. They were trying to get rid of me but none of them had the courage to just do it and be done with it. The thought of losing my job upset me to no end. I had been unemployed for the better part of 3 years when I got this job, as crappy as it was. The idea of being unemployed scared me so much that I foolishly stepped up the challenge.

Two days and a lot of thought later I told my supervisor that his conditions were unreasonable and that I was going to be seeking other employment (keep in mind that I was working over 60 hours a week and that to just leave and go to an interview AND keep it private was not an option.) As expected, he fired me on the spot. He tried to coerce me into signing a resignation letter by telling me that if I signed, I would get a good recommendation but if I did not, that he would drag my name through the mud to future employers that called for references. I told him that I was still not signing the document and that what he was doing was illegal.

I later found out that I was not the only employee in the company to be let go this way. The company has a history of setting unreasonable or impossible goals for their employees that they are trying to weed out. When it doesn't work or when the employees fail, they lose their jobs.

This company if very good about talking the talk about what a wonderful future you could have with them and how you'll have lots of support from veterans. But when it comes to walking the walk, that's when they drop the ball and turn it around to make it look as if you are the one that is not doing enough to get to where you want to be. As I said when I started this report, I want people to go in with their eyes wide open as far as what their experience could be. There are several decent and good people that work for this company but they are the ones that aren't moving up as fast as they deserve to.

If you are just coming out of college, I would think twice about applying for a job with the Hantz Group. They like to get fresh college grads so that they can mold them into what the company wants them to be. They are very good and very subtle about their brainwashing tactics. It took me a year and half to figure out that they were doing nothing more than brainwashing me and trying to change me.

Be careful in your association with this company.
