We have 6 children and have had our share of birthday parties. For my youngest son's 5th birthday party we decided to finally try childrens entertainment. Why not have some entertainment come to our home, thrill the kids and well, let's just have a good time and create a memory. Be careful what you wish for.
I went online searching for local childrens entertainment and came across a link "$98 Tuxedo Clowns" for 1 hr. Wow! I have been searching and this was the cheapest price I have seen. Thought I would click on to see what they have to offer. They do everything, and seem to have everything you can possibly imagine for any kind of event or function. Can this be true?
I made the call with a $30 deposit, inquired about what the clown will be doing at the party and what TUXEDO Clown they will be sending. (As they have 2 clowns you pick from; a yellow tuxedo clown or blue tuxedo clown). I was told the yellow tuxedo clown would be coming. And I was assured that everything stated on their website is what we are going to see. Posted on all the invites to be prompt, entertainment for children will be here. I was excited so were some of my relatives.
I reserved for a 3pm - 4:30 pm time with the clown. 2 of our daughters came running to me "the clown is here, the clown is here!" I opened the door and could not believe my eyes! It looked like my little cousin came by in a clown costume. No tuxedo, a one piece party city costume. A purple wig, non-painted face, did I mention the noticable stains? I invited him in the backyard and now felt obligated to keep the clown since my kids saw the clown.
He started dancing with the kids and I walked away upset, my relatives asked who was this person and I said "I guess the clown." I was so embarrassed! I heard several remarks regarding the "cheap entertainment" which was stated several times by different people. Friends came up to me asking how much I paid. I was sad to answer it will be a total of $153.00.
On "A Los Angeles Clown and Character" they state they will have a parachute, a crawl-through tunnel, pass out candy to the kids, magic tricks and games. No candy, no parachute, no crawl-through tunnel no quality clown! He was nice but it wasn't legit on what we were told and what is shown on the website. It is a misrepresentation on their part and I also see it as a rip off! When he was finished my husband and I were honest enough to mention in a very cordial manner regarding our disappointment in his appearance and asked why we were told something different?
To our surprise it got worse. He stated he wasn't actually with that particular company. He was with another company and was told to come to this location! Another punch below the belt line. Why wasn't any of this brought to our attention before. They totally took advantage and I do not want this embarrassment to happen to anyone else.
I e-mailed them that same night explaining my disappointment, and called early morning the next day. Emailed the next day and left another message. No response. 3 days passing and the only way we finally got to speak with someone was having my husband ask about information as if he was a potential customer. Then he told them who we were and why hasn't any taken the liberty in helping us with this issue. Even with that, this gentlemen, Alex, was getting a little huffy with my husband. Bad customer service, no help, no honesty.
We have pictures of the clown and everytime I see the pictures I get very sad to think how can people be so dishonest and get away with it?! We trust in their business, they claim to be the best and end up being your worst nightmare. I don't ever want to do this again! Thanks for the horrible experience!

I'm surprised

Maybe this company has gone downhill or something since I worked for them. I was a party performer in 2007.
When I was there this place hired great people who were professional and loved kids. There were a wide range of costumes, wigs, and makeup. We were trained by the owner to do balloon animals and face painting. We did have the parachute to play with, along with magic tricks and other toys. The one bad thing I can say is that the costumes weren't cleaned frequently enough.
It's possible you got them on a day where they were overbooked if they hired someone else from another company, and as I said could be they went downhill since then, but all and all the customers I worked for were always happy.
Sorry this happened to you

This is an update on what has been going on since July 21, 2007 with this company. It is now July 30, 2007. My husband finally talked to "Alex" who stated we will be getting a $30 refund back. We were hoping for atleast half of the $153, but we were offered this amount. To note, this amount was only offered after we sent our pictures to them as they requested.
My husband again stated his disappointment and asked atleast for half the amount we paid since what was promised to us was not given. My husband asked to speak to the owner of the company (Gus) and he was told that that would not be possible. My husband also told him that I was considering filing a report on their company for the way we have been treated, ALEX states "Well, good luck with that."
After all this trouble not on "I apologize sir or ma'am" or any type sympathy or compassion was given to either me or my husband. They were very rude and just do not care if the customer is satisfied or not.
4 emails no response. 3 phone messages no response. In order to speak to a live person you have to pretend you are a potential customer. They say you live and you learn. What was my lesson? Don't trust any company, organization? There is always a small piece of corruption somewhere. Sad way to live but true. Cheap isn't better! I was trying to save money and lost money.
