I purchased Net Detective software online one night for $29.95 and was given access to the download. The advertisement said "start using it within three minutes". When I opened the file on my computer, it required a serial number that was not provided to me.

I emailed the customer support address for Harris Digital & the next day, they sent me the serial number which enabled me to access the program I downloaded.

After using Net Detective for a week, I decided that it was not what I needed to do what my intention was for the program. Because Harris offered a 30 day refund policy, I contacted them at the 1-800 number in Florida. I never got through to a human, I was on eternal hold. It was then that I decided to e-mail customer support again regarding the refund.

As promised, within 24 hours, customer care responded to me by providing me with a refund form (4 or 5 pages) that had to be printed out, completed & mailed to Florida. I did the form, which basically gives them information on why you weren't happy with the program, your information, etc. (Nothing complicated or unreasonable). I then mailed the completed form to Harris via Certified Return Receipt mail.

An email was sent to me about a week later stating that my refund was in process & I should see the credit on my account within 10-14 days. As promised, the refund for $29.95 showed up today.

I'm posting this as my experience with Harris Digital Publishing in light of the many negative posts that I saw on the net. I feel that while their product was not what I needed, it probably COULD help someone who doesn't have the internet experience that I do. Also, while their response was not good by phone, their email responses were fast & I made progress with each one exchanged.

You did what I should have done.

Perhaps you had such good service on asking for your refund and receiving it because you send the refund form by certified mail. I was considering it, because it is more legal. It probably makes your refund a high priority. I sent off for a refund a month ago and have not heard anything yet. But I did not send it certified mail.
