Hartford Auto Club, Mega Saver Promised me a 30 day trial period to review materials didn't send materials and charged my card $99 anyway can't get my money back rip-off miami Florida Thank You Rip-off Report

This is the complaint I sent to my credit card company...

Earlier this Summer, I received a phone call from a company selling a product/service called Mega Saver. I was told that I could review their service for 30 days, and if I decided it would benefit me, my credit card would be billed. (I cancelled Mega Saver on August 5th)

This company also enrolled me in the Hartford Auto Club. I was told that I would be able to review club materials that would be sent to me. I could then decide if I wanted to stay a member ($99.00 annually billed to my card) or cancel during my 30 day trial period.

This is where my dispute arises. During my 30 day trial period, I never received materials from the Hartford Auto Club to review. To this day, I have not received one piece of literature describing this club or the services it offers. However, my credit card was billed $99.00.

I am disputing this charge on my bill of $99.00, because the Hartford Auto Club did not fulfill their end of our agreement. I do not wish to be, now or in the future, a member of the Hartford Auto Club. Any and all charges that appear on this or any other card or account will be disputed.

The HArtford auto club wrote back and said the charge is legit because I agreed to it - YEAH - DUH - They didn't keep up their end of the bargain!! Now these scumbags are hanging on to my $ like a rabid dog! I am going to pursue legal action in my state.
