in 2001 i bought a new wildcat fifth wheel camper believing i was trading for a better built camper. i paid over 27,000 for it,paid 3500 down payment. the first year i had it the rubber roof pulled loose from the front cap of camper. haye's rv said they would fix it . after approximately 4 months the camper was finally fixed. or should i say patched. when i went to pick up the camper, i asked the service manager if he thought there was any water damage to the sides of the camper. he assured there should not be any problems. in 2002 (right after the warranty was expired) three tires on the camper tore completely off of the camper while going to a camping area with my grandkids in the car(it was close to 100 degrees the day this happened) no one at hayes rv would admit the tires were faulty from the factory so i paid for those at my expense! (CARLISLE TIRES) Ihave tried to contact haye,s rv by e-mail and sent him pictures of my water damaged sides from the front cap leaking. no response from them. i contacted forest river-no response. these complaints have been going on now for several years,no response. on august 15,2008 while trying to drive to campground,the fiberglass on the right front side from the cap to the side window blew off the camper!! the wood was completely rotted and gave way. we had been fighting leaks for a long time but didnt know it was that bad. the estimate to fix it was over 11,000 dollars! my insurance company will only pay for the fiberglass tearing off-4,500dollars! i still owe over 11,000 dollars on it! i don't know anything else to do but park it and try to pay it off. thanks for the website, maybe i helped someone else who is planning to buy a camper.
