I found NetDetective.com through a review site that stated the company was the best on the market and one of the only ones to not scam it's users (it turns out the review site is an affiliate of NetDetective and earns a 69% of the revenue they generate for the company).

After reading the site's claims:

- 90-day, 100% satisfaction, money back guarantee
- Database containing records on 90% of Americans
- $29.99/3 years of unlimited searches & access to "all NetDetective has to offer"
- Access to public records, criminal histories, credit information, neighbors, etc.

I signed up.

Once I was granted access to the membership area, I attempted to perform searches on at least 20 individuals. All but 2 came back with "no results found." 2 out of 20 is 10%, not 90% as was stated. Not only did a very limited number of people come back with records, but to find out any information besides the person's name and city they lived in, you have to upgrade your membership and pay $10 for only 3 days of upgraded search capabilities. So much for having access to "all NetDetective has to offer" for $29.99/3 years!

Immediately, I contacted their customer service department and stated that I was dissatisfied with their service and wanted a refund. They told me the only way to get a refund was to mail in a "refund request form." When I asked where to fill out said form, they told me that they could not tell me where to download it since doing so was against their policy!

I disputed the charge and had it removed by my bank. I then emailed them demanding that my service be canceled. They emailed back saying that they could not cancel it; and, two days later my bank card was charged again (illegal since they have to answer the bank's dispute and resolve it before having access to the funds)!

I have since reported them to the Better Business Bureau and filed a claim with Florida's Attorney General (the complaint is currently under investigation).

If you haven't already purchased their service, obviously DON'T! They are professional SCAM artists and will gladly take your $ without supplying you with ANY of the services they expressly promise.

If you have already have been scammed by this company, don't just sit back and watch your hard earned money be stolen. DO SOMETHING! Contact the Better Business Bureau & Florida's Attorney General as I did. This website has been in business since at least 1998. I can't even begin to imagine how much money they have stolen. Let's shut them down!
