HI , I gave my child up for adoption when i was only 16 years old i had 1 child already so i contacted heart to heart and i was told taht they can help me and make sure there was a way that i would get pictures and everything but when i got out there thing were totally different i was told if i did go through with it i would have to pay them back the money they spend to get me down there and i would have to find a way home for me and my son which was 1 years old at the time so to me i ahd no choice my moma didin`t even know where i was i didn`t have anybody.and that was not the worst part when i got ready to be discharged from the hospital my c section cut was still open and i had to hide it from my family but when my mother didi found out she was floored how could they let i child make this decision.my mother was in a wheelchair and she was fighting to try to get my child back and it was so hard my mother dided trying to get my child i have not got a letter or anything i call and never get a call or email back can anyone out there help me PLEASE!!! is there any kind of justice out here i hurt just thinking that i was forced to do this i at least deserve letters pictures or something .does anyone know some kind of way i could get help this is a major cry for help

i'm aware that no two people will have the same experience in life but as a birthmother who has been through the adption process twice with heart to heart i can only feel that the girl who wrote that is delutional. just as the heart to hart reply stated the treatment she described isnt even legal. i am in no way connected to heart to heart ive only used them to assist in my adoption experience which was handled in a professional and ethical manner.
my case worker was kind and consuiderate and even made me feel like she cared how i felt in a difficult time. the medical proffesionals were all first rate and the hospital was as pleasant as a hospital stay can be expected to be and the treatment there was also first rate. also, heart to heart brought me to all appountments and always got any prescriptions required. i could go.on and on but you get the picture that they are a reputable company.and i'd recomend them to everyone.

The story you tell here is not how adoptions work at Heart to Heart - ever. The first inconsistency in your report is that we are do not work with minors in making an adoption plan without parental consent. Secondly, the team of doctors and hospitals we work with would not discharge a patient with an open wound. Third, the relinquishment paperwork states that there is no coersion of any kind and that placing a child for adoption is the decision of the birthmother and completely voluntary. If a birthmother changes her mind, we still provide travel to your home state.
Again, I would recommend you contact Heart to Heart immediately to resolve this, rather that post this complaint here. Let's get this worked through so you can have peace and move forward with your life in a positive way. I would also recommend you speak with one of our counselors and get the help you need. The counselors at Heart to Heart are available for our birthmothers as long as they need it. We look forward to hearing from you.
