Stealing services from a small minority business!!! In September, the owners of this company approached me to take them on as a client for public relations and media exposure.  While my usual minimum retainer is $3000 per month, they told me that they were a small company and did not have any money left in their budget (poor-mouthing- that should have been my first clue). I agreed to take them on for 3 moths, Oct. Nov. Dec. of 09 for a total fee of $3000 for all 3 months with a signed contract stating specifically that I would be retained at my regular rate in 2010.  This is why I agreed.

I was able to get the word out about their product in several prestigious magazines and also got them a $12,000 ad at no cost.

In Dec. on the 12th I had not received my payment as promised, so I contacted them and they informed me that they "did not have any more money to spend on PR".  Then they asked if I could give back my November retainer to help them out!!!!!!!!!!  Me help them out?  I am a single mom, raising a disabled child, with a home based business! What about my time and effort, to say nothing of the signed written contract I had with them.  Public Relations with a money back guarantee?  What planet are these guys from? It is obvious that they just took the $12,000 ad and all my hard work and knowingly had no intention of paying up after that.

My experience  in business has always been that if someone has the rip off mentality when it comes to transacting business, they don't just do it once to one person, it is habitual-- a pattern.

So, if you're thinking of doing business with this company, think twice.  Heavens Alchemy stinks when it comes to honoring their obligations!  They lied and cheated me out of money.  They did this despite a legally binding contract.  If they did it to me, chances are they'll do it to you.
