I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee - Limited Edition in 2006 and purchased what I was told was an extended warranty to the manufacturers warranty and that it went into effect beyond the 80,000 manufacturers warranty.
What a Lie! I got screwed! The warranty I purchased for $1495 expired at 80,000 with the manufacturers warranty although I was told it extended beyond the manufacturers warranty. I even received an extended warranty card stating that the warranty expired at 125,000.00. So when I needed service beyond the 80,000 I was told sorry, your warranty expired at 80,000. We don't know why you received a card stating that the warranty expires at 125,000. That was to throw me off since I received the manufacturers warranty card that read it expired at 80,000 and the extended warranty expired at 125,000. Therefore; I'm thinking I'm covered. How disappointing to find out you've been got! The contract reads two different things regarding the warranty. I had to share my experience in hopes that it could save the next person from getting screwed.
Beware, read your contract, take a lawyer - because these snakes are out to rip you off! I'm currently seeking legal advise!

I bought a 2005 Grand cherokee limited in feb. 08, i was told it, along with all dominion dodges other certified used vehicles, had a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty, lets see.....2 days after i bought it, it was back at the dealer for a running problem, they put a fuel injector, an oxygen sensor, and wiring harness on it....ran ok. It went back again a month later for the same issue, they then replaced the ignition switch.
Two and half months, and 1300 miles later my pinion seal started to leak, as yours probably has also...i called the dealer, and they simply told me they do not offer a 3month 3000 mile warranty....hmmm kinda funny huh.
I then simply asked them if i had no warranty, then why did they fix the items before at no charge....they told me it was goodwill.....YEA OK...i guess thats why its on my warranty report from chrysler huh???
But youre right when i buy another vehicle from a dealer i think ill just take a lawyer with me and save us both the time lol
