Beware! DO NOT trust these guys. They owe my business over $30,000 in damage claims, lost furniture and fraudulent billing. They made over 340 deliveries for my business in a one year period. Of those deliveries, aproximately 20 -25% arrived damaged. They dropped and ran on several deliveries leaving my customers with broken furniture in their homes. They lost furniture, delivered the WRONG furniture and took up to 6 MONTHS to get deliveries right for some of our customers. I had one customer sign HEP's delivery ticket with the comment - "you guys are idiots" after she had to wait over 6 months for them to be able to deliver undamaged product to her. I have no idea how they can stay in business much less retain the business of corporations like Costco. They had trucks break down on the side of the road. Once the Customer Service Director told us a driver was home in bed with strep and he had the truck!!! They don't have a REAL customer service line. They avoid answering the phone when customers call. The CEO Keith Hewitt, made excuse after excuse for 4 months stating he was reviewing the invoices for the overcharges and the damaged product claims and would get back to me within the "normal processing time". That was FOUR months ago. Now, the excuse is that I need to pickup all of the furniture they damaged before he will "review" the over charge invoices and damage claims. It is my opinion this business does not have the MONEY to pay me and will not be in business for much longer because of it. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office this week for deceptive trade practices and fradulent billing. I've had to hire an attorney and pay a $2500 retainer fee to even start on the case.

I feel it appropriate to defend myself against your attacks which include accusations and derogatory comments.
My defense to YOUR allegations that my behavior is both "unethical and unprofessional" is to the contrary Mr. Hewitt. Your criminal behavior is EXTREMELY "unethical and unprofessional." Domestic Violence, Violating protective orders, violating promises to appear, Hard Jail Time and multiple DUI's are not only wreckless, unethical and uprofessional, it's disturbing.
My defense to "Governing Myself Accordingly" is that you read the paragraph above one more time.
My response to your comment...."You now run the very real risk of incurring additional liability, on the basis of tortious interference with business relationships, by making these disparaging statements in a business context" .... is as follows....
To the contrary, you have wrongfully interfered with my economic opportunities by stealing almost $30,000 from my business. That money was operating capital for my business.
My defense to your comment that I "may become liable for any and all damages sustained as a result of your improvident remarks, including lost sales, lost sales opportunities, and any loss of future business that may be suffered." ...... is as follows.......
My comments are far from being improvident and the fact you think they are shows your arrogance and disregard for others. Your loss of sales and sales opportunities is of your own doing. I have incurred significant damages from what you have done to me. I'd say any tortious interference began when you stole $30,000 from my business.

It has been brought to my attention that you continue to make disparaging statements about HEP Direct and myself to its clients and customers. You now run the very real risk of incurring additional liability, on the basis of tortious interference with business relationships, by making these disparaging statements in a business context.
You may become liable for any and all damages sustain as a result of your improvident remarks, including lost sales, lost sales opportunities, and any loss of future business that may be suffered. If
these remarks continue, suit will be filed against your company without further delay.
You must discontinue this unprofessional and unethical behavior immediately, or HEP Direct will have no alternative but to enforce its rights in court.

I would like to publicly apologize to Mr. Hewitt for using the wrong wording in my complaint. There are no CRIMINAL or CIVIL charges PENDING against Mr. Hewitt as far as my situation is concerned. He has not been tried, convicted or sentenced of anything related to me or my business. However, my statements regarding what has transpired are 100% accurate and I am actively seeking justice. I have initiated both criminal and civil lawsuits against Mr. Hewitt and his business HEP Direct. My intent is not to slander or harrass Mr. Hewitt but to make others aware of my experience with this man and the devastating impact to me, my family and my business.

Someone going by "Dwayne K. Hewitt" has been busy forming corporations with the state of Norh Carolina the past few months.
On 12/30/11, Dwayne K. Hewitt from a corporation CALLED DKH LOGISTICS with the state of North Carolina SOSID 1236685
On 01/04/12, that same person filed a 2nd corporation CALLED DKH VENTURES with the state of North Carolina SOSID 1236276
You would be attempting to defraud me if you know the HEP Corporation isn't going to exist long enough to evaluate any claims or to refund the stolen money from the checks you cashed. Is that what you are trying to do here? I have a feeling I know the answer.

You crack me up! There is no "misunderstanding" . There was no "oversight". I've already "very kindly" submitted the documentation to you. The first set of claims was submitted over a year ago. Contraire, telling the "truth" isn't really considered an assault, is it? You stole money from my business. You cashed checks and never delivered the furniture. Some of the checks you cashed were for furniture you had not even picked up from the manufacturer yet. You damaged thousands of dollars of my furniture and wont pay the claims. Call it what you want, but it's the truth and I have documentation to support every single claim I have made.

There is nothing BASELESS about my complaint and you know it! You are not being honest with those "First Rate Customers" of your's. Why haven't you been able to pay your line haul truck teams? Like me, they have families too. What about outstanding claims with those first rate customers? How are going to pay them? Have you been stringing them along with lies like you did me?
A word to the wise! Always do background checks before trusting anyone with your business or your money. It's well worth it. I was foolish for not doing so!
