I have had nothing but a bad experience with Heritage Acceptance!! Especially their employee named Eric. He is very unprofessional and rude!! He speaks to customers as if they are below him.

I had received a letter from Heritage stating I was approved to be financed and it directed me to a dealership that was right by my house. Since it was a very well known dealer, Ed Napleton, I did not see it being a scam! I had called and right away spoke with someone in finance and made an appointment to go in.

When I purchased my vehicle I was under the impression that they knew what they were doing and I was in good hands. I was told that I would have a payment of $202.22 a month, I was paying for 1 year of insurance up front, and my plates were included in the financing. I received the yellow temporary plate and was told my plates would be in about 2 weeks. I had to put $500.00 down and my first payment would be in 45 days. To me it was too good to be true but I was assured by the finance manager that everything was legit!! I did leave with my car that day and was very happy at that moment. A low car payment, a decent down payment, I was a very happy customer! The only thing that seemed off to me was I did not recieve a copy of a contract. I asked for one of course and the finance manager told me that they had accidently mad a mistake on the taxes, it was off by a few dollars, and I would be recieving a copy in the mail or I could pick one up when I got my plates in two weeks. Still, I believed I was being told the truth.

About a week after I had my car I get a phone call from Eric at Heritage. He was very rude right off the bat. He tells me I owe another $1500 for a down payment and if I did not give it to them within 2 weeks he would have my car repossessed! I was shocked!! I did not want to lose my car that I just got a week prior to that. I let him know what I was told and asked if I could have a copy of my contract and he told me no! I told him I know that I did not sign anything saying I would pay another $1500 within two weeks. He told me either I paid it or he sent someone to get the car. I ended up paying it and I had called Eric numerous times to get a copy of my contract and he refused to send one. He said it was not his job and I should have been more responsible. I have to agree with that, I should have been more responsible but I as a customer deserve a copy of my contract through the bank.

It gets even better!! The year of insurance I paid for the insurance company had no idea what I was talking about. My plates were never ordered. I had a temporary plate from the dealership, I called after two weeks like they said and was told they weren't in yet. I called numerous times for weeks and kept being told that they were ordered but they just didn't come in. I contacted Eric since the dealership had no answer and he said he didn't know and that wasnt his job. After months of calling and waiting my temporary plates expired and I received two tickets! I finally called The Secretary of State and they said there was never any plates ordered for my vehicle!! I had to take a day off of work go down to the DMV ande purchase plates again.

Oh and then I come to find out my $202.22 a month car payment ended up being a $404.44 a month car payment. In my contract (that I still have not received) I guess it says I have to pay bi weekly! So that's what I have been doing for the past 11 months now only because I do not want to lose my car!

I do make my car payment every time and there has been a few times I've been a day or two late. When that happens Eric calls me repeatedly harassing! He talks down to me like I am below him. He'll say things like "I wouldn't have to call you if you paid your bills." He'll call my references when Im a day late telling them I'm irresponsible and he's looking for me. I've asked him numerous times to talk to someone else and he says no. I've told him not to call me if he's going to talk to me that way and he says no. I have left complaints and have gotten no reply or call back. I have been asking for almost a year now for a copy of MY CONTRACT so I can see what I really got myself into and I still have yet to receieve one!! I can not wait until I do not have to deal with them anymore!! I dont know when that will be because I have no contract but hopefully I don't have to continue to be ripped off for much longer!

Napleton Is The Problem

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Much of what the loan company said is true, but more on that later.  You DID NOT pick a "reputable" dealer.  Napleton is a slimeball, schlock operation.  They are known in the business as exactly that.  There are problems and complaints about them everywhere they operate and all the complaints get back to two points, FRAUD and DECEPTION.  As an example, if you get the contract (and you should NOT have agreed to leaving without it), you will see a HUGE, completely PHONEY/BOGUS fee.  Whether they call it "administrative", dealer fee", "documentation fee", its cute, official sounding name is used to DISGUISE its purpose...its a completely BOGUS fee which you agreed to.  All the lender does is finance the purchase as per the contract supplied by the seller.  The registration, plates etc is done by the dealer.  What kind of "insurance" did you get?  You buy your own full coverage insurance on your own rather than be RIPPED OFF by Napleton. I would just about bet the slimeball pondscum caught on you were an inexperienced buyer and moved in for the kill.
