Heritage Chrysler Service Department Was Almost Totally Taken Advantage off! Baltimore Maryland

I stopped in at the Heritage Chrysler Service department where I have gone on and off for the past six years. I had noise coming and didn't know what it was. They asked me to leave it overnight to diagnose. An hour and half later they called to say it needed all this work. A new battery harness $587, new bearings and hubs $550. New bushings and pads pressed another $500 or so and then an total alignment $89. Roughly about $1600.

By the way I am driving a 5 year old car with 41,000 miles which I just had serviced in November. I was in shock! Went and picked up my car, by the way Heritage charged me $95. for the diagnostic) and then took it to my mechanic where I usually go. An independent mechanic near my home. The only reason I stopped at Heritage is I was running errands and it was closer to where I was rather than where I live. I wanted to make sure the car was safe to drive.

Drove the car to my mechanic and left it. Picked it up today and they cleaned the battery with battery cleaner. There was no charge. I didn't need new bushings or pads pressed or a total alignment. My wonderful independent mechanic charged me $374 for new bearings and labor. Wow! What a relief!

I never realized dealer service centers or Heritage in particular really try to rip you off. My suggestion would be is use an independent mechanic and get two opinions. I will never return there. Beware!!!
