Heritage Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc. Selling new policy to receive reimbursement Charleston South Carolina

Paid $4,297 in 5/05 for a 4/48 motorhome extended warranty policy. Received policy from Heritage Warranty, Dublin, OH. Had authorized repairs conducted by Freightliner Service Center, Texarkana, TX.

Submitted claim to Heritage as directed by Administrator. Contacted 800 number on 9/29/08 and was told claim processed and approved. Payment authorized and check would be sent by Heritage.

Received call 9/30/08 from Grant at National Administrative Services. He offered to pay me the claim ($1,618) and reimburse me the unused portion of the Heritage policy ($478) if I would purchase a new policy for 3yrs/36Kmiles in the amount of $4,725.

He said that SC had seized the assets of Heritage and no claims would be paid. This is a actionable "bait and switch" scheme. I plan to start the document writing program to AG's, BBB, Insurance Departments, etc. We'll see what transpires.
