I responded to an ad on Backstage for Rose Talent seeking Commercial Actors.
I was called in for an audtion at Space Station Casting. Soon after I was emailed by Kelley Wallce stating that she was considering me for her agency and she wanted me to take a commercial class to brush up on my audition technique before coming back in for a callback.
She recommended 5 classes. The first was in bold and was Hey I saw Your Commercial by Mike Pointer.
I decided to sign up because I had never taken a commercial class and have been taking a lot of new classes recently.
During Mike Pointers classes he doesn't teach much. He spends most of the class trying to sell you DVDs, books, ad copy, or get you to sign up for his next level. He is a self help coach on the side and prints all his own material. It's all very smoke and mirrors feeling.
After I had taken 2 classes I reached out to the agent. She said there was a problem with the studio and she wanted me to self tape my callback. I sent it in.
SHe suddenly emails me back and says that she is being told her Rose Talent name is too close to Rose Talent Management and she has to close her agency and refer me to her "sister agency" Thrive Artists, run by someone named Julie Warner. I emailed Julie Warner and got no response and Kelley disappeared.
Thrive Artists website is suspicously similar to Rose Talent in their design and content.
I searched for Rose Talent Management and could not find them ANYWHERE.
I contacted the first actress on Rose Talent's web roster and she claiimed that she had NO IDEA who Rose Talent or Kelley Wallace was and that she was NOT affiliated with them. She said the headshot they were using was FOUR YEARS OLD and she hadn't used it ever since.
I mentioned Mike Pointer and she said OH MY GOD, I TOOK MIKE POINTERS CLASS FOUR YEARS AGO WITH THAT HEADSHOT, ONLY TIME I USED IT.
This to me is proof enough that Mike Pointer creates fake talent agencies and lures actors into his classes and then dumps the fake agency pulling the rug out from under the actor.
This has been reported to SAG-AFTRA and the LA Consumers Complaints Department.
You be the judge.

Don't fool yourself and accuse people of Slander Mike Pointer. There is some pretty solid evidence here against you of foul play on your part and you're obviously feeling backed into a corner. You have no suit for slander. And "Timothy" is not the only person attacking you. You have NUMEROUS rip off reports against you.
The pattern is developed and to think those are all acting coaches trying to steal your "business secrets" is absurd. You sir are truly infantile and a snake oil salesman at best. Sad that you take advantage of new actors like that.

This post by Mr. Timothy L. (which is his internet, fake review name). As this post has been brought to my attention, I’m in the process of filing a suit in small claims court for slander. This Male person, as I have been advised by my attorney not to list his name on public platforms yet, is actually an acting coach that attended my free audit and 2 of my paid classes to steal information to use in his program for actors. I was informed of this by several of my clients that witnessed my Playbook materials I give to my actors on his desk at his studio. I’ve been coaching for 18 years and will not tolerate this attempt to destroy my name and company.
Moreover, for years I have received actor referrals from numerous agencies over the years. There is nothing illegal about referrals. To say I run multiple talent agencies is pure foolish and a very infantile, not well thought out way to try and destroy my company. Mr. Timothy L. you will be visited by a process server (with documents containing your real name) and I will see you in court.

I also took Mike Pointer’s class and he distributed this letter to us before that may be of interest to you:
Title - Hello Mike Pointer. I was referred to you by Rebecca Brunson
“Hello Mike! My name is Julie B. Warner. I was referred to you by a colleague of mine named Rebecca Brunson. I’m also very aware of the gray work you have done with commercial actors over the years.
I recently launched a Commercial Agency named Thrive Artists Agency. I have over 20+ years of experience as a Talent Agent and Studio Executive so I’m not new to the industry. I’m looking for well-trained talent which I’m sure you have. I’m looking to immediately sign 30 to 40 actors of all types.
My contract is non-exclusive for the first 3 months or until I book them on their first job. There is also a 3 month out clause if for any reason they want to leave the agency.
Please forward this email to your actors that are seeking representation. All I’d require is for each actor to email me an introduction slate to see their personality (I’m sure they will be great based on your coaching).
My email is juliebwarner@gmail.com. Pass this along to your actors and tell them to feel free to email me for more details.
Sincerely,
Julie B. Warner"

Where is the true location (as well as contact information) for Thrive Artists Agency if it actually exists?

SAG was of no help.

I contacted SAG and they said "Well this class isn't union affiliated so there isn't much we can do. Be careful, there are a lot of scam classes out there."
The LA Consumer's Complaints department never returned my calls or emails.

What did SAG say? Is Thrive Artists Agency truly a fake agency? Thanks.
